Fifa shouldn't be allowed to say it is a political statement as it isn't. Paul Mullins having **** the Torries on his boots was political. Kane scoring a goal and taking his shirt to reveal a Sunak is a ******** slogan would be political. Supporting the LGBT community with an armband isn't.

The whole competition should have never gone to Qatar, but for FIFA to take this position is shameful. Every single player from every country should wear an armband and say **** em.

Doubt he will be swanning around Fifa for long. He will be having a gander at what's being said and decided to duck out of it.

While England fans aren't allowed a beer in the stadium he'll be gosling champagne in hospitality.

We’ve got far more players than there are games. Each match, someone different should wear one and take the booking.

Really think some of the bigger Nations should be making noises about abandoning the tournament and coming home. Infantino is obviously compromised to the point of ineffectiveness and the whole thing is starting to look like the $hitshow many predicted. Beckham has lost a lot of credibility over this and wants stripping of his honours when he next hits England.

Infantino is a Qatar resident, he's doing what he's told, as was always going to be the way, or he'd be losing a lot of perks.

This whole sorry situation sums up corporate liberalism and supposed allyship with the LGBT community. We matter when it's easy, but we're not quite worth a booking. If a protest needs permission it isn't a protest.

Kick It Out, unless there's a risk of our captain picking up a suspension for game 3.

    Absolute bottle job.

Would have been such an easy win for everyone to take the booking, or at least the captains. Would have made FIFA look pathetic, now the national associations look pathetic.

Stupid to back down. Let all players wear them. Get book and carry on doing it.

England players take the knee and the stadium announcer choked on his countdown

People want to protest by wearing a armband but if the players felt so strongly dont go simple. Same with fans reporters whoever dont go... havent seen one player taking that stance.

that’s all well and good for you to say sat at home but , if you were a player and it was your one and only shot left at a World Cup final would you follow it through?
Totally agree it shouldn’t have gone there but if players get booked and weaken the side to the extent you lose games, you are the advantage giving sides from countries who don’t care anyway .

tbf it's a hypothetical question, so I'll give my hypothetical answer. yes I would follow it through. fk the tournament. I've never really been bothered about international football. this is the final nail for me. what we're seeing is sport washing of the very worst kind. and there's a $hit load of people complicit in it.

We've decided to take part in the competition, knowing how they treat migrant workers, women , honosexuals. I don't really see why you expect the FA to make any kind of stand now
