Interesting that he says he knows them well, “just down the road from where I live”. I knew that of course having been a Gloucester man myself for nearly 20 years, but I didn’t realise that he hadn’t moved his family north when he got the job. Not ideal but you can’t blame him.
With an average managerial tenureship of about 450 days across the top 4 divisions, makes sense to not uproot your family
Apart from he reckons we're cracking at the back. I think we're awful at the back personally and that Collins has been weak lately too. He might not have made an howler for the goal the other night but it was hardly a screamer and he was nowhere near their other scuffed efforts either Make no mistake, we are weak EVERYWHERE.
I don't know about his family circumstances but schooling might be a good enough reason to leave his family in Gloucestershire. If he establishes himself at Oakwell he could have a rethink but we all know what happens. Do badly - out the door Do well - out the door We can't win really.
Sounds like he's a bit upset he can't pin the defeats on the GK to take the heat off his dire one dimensional tactics.
I agreed with what he was saying. However, I agree. It did read badly. Perhaps it could have been edited better. It did read as though he was trying to pin the tail on the donkey.
Was thinking about MD the other day and the fact that he is based in Cheltenham. Hope i`m wrong but my prediction is that he will be the next manager of Bristol City - whenever that job next comes up. Wouldn`t blame him - work/life balance.
When he came in he mentioned sweat on the shirt and taking games to the opposition. I would prefer him to stick to doing that rather than having Benson/Martin/Phillips/Kane all of similar style get the ball, stop, turn away from the goal and pass either sideways or backwards. That or get the ball, stop, let the opposition get more bodies in front of the ball and lose any possible momentum we could have had. Why are they all **** scared of running at an opposition player and trying to excite the fans by taking them on? Kitching probably does that more than anyone for us and he shouldn't have to as a defender. It's time they started earning their pay packet.
