As part of our kids play for free initiative, we’re getting the kids doing a sponsored bike ride. As they range from only 7 up to 15, we are doing it virtually on exercise bikes supported by a local fitness trainer. It is 874 miles (the coast road distance, not as the crow flies), and with how small some of them are, it will be a challenge. The kids are doing this next Saturday, and as much as I’ve shamelessly begged on here before, for the sake of the kids I’ll pop this on here if anyone would like to support them. Just as a reminder, we are the only rugby club in Yorkshire (for now, we’re getting famous for it and some others are looking into if they could make it work), that provide completely free access to the sport, no weekly fees, no annual subscription, playing and training kit provided, meals after matches, even a preloved boot bank. Times are hard, we do this to help the kids and the parents, but we do need help. If you could chuck a couple of quid in, even ten Bob, it will all go to the kids - and the added bonus of this one is that there is also support to cash for kids on Hallam FM (they keep all the gift aid), helping disadvantaged kids all over the county. https://www.cashforkidsgive.co.uk/c...undraisers/wheatley-hill-rufc-junior-section/
We appreciate every penny, it isn’t lost on us that asking for help in the current financial climate is a bit of a cheek. But if anything it makes what we are doing even more valuable. Thank you.
Would it not be better to do the bike ride John O’Groats to Lands End? All down hill. Much easier for the kids.
