That's got to be a record for a Barnsley born player or even any ex-red

I believe Yolthwaite Muckstack from Grimethorpe got 61 in the 1890s so very nearly but not quite

Pity about his injury as he was having a fine game although the commentators never seem to notice , last night for example Kane misplaced two passes early in the game & the comment was that " you could clearly see Harry"s intentions " although he cocked the move up twice , compared to Stones who bursts out of defence on a 30 yard run & then spreads the game with an inch perfect ball through to Sterling , superb play what did not even raise a word from either muppets behind the mike , although I must confess they did big him up after he got injured .

I'm fairly certain one of them mentioned it, something along the lines of 'thats absolutely fantastic from John stones' because I remember also thinking, like you, why he isn't getting praised whilst he's been best player on the pitch

I really notice it too. He’s brilliant, still the best centre back I have seen. Imagine the hammer he would be getting if he gave away 2 goals last night ie Maguire

To be fair Maguire is taking a lot of stick about last night, as he has done for the past 12/18 months. But the argument was he never lets England down - something I think is fair to say might not be true.
