Have they the money to spend also? Seems to me they're buying their way out of this League. Have they learned nothing????
Hope he gets off to a less than ideal start and they sack him prematurely, like West Brom did with Val! Rotherham had a chance to stay up this season, they've started well.
It's harsh on Rotherham, think they've been loyal to each other. Fact is though, Warne will be on more money than ever before now, it could easily be life changing for him... Big shame.
They should have been thrown out of the league. I don't blame the fans and players, it's them above: Rotten.
He can't take Rotherham any further. They will always be a yo yo club. Derby have more potential in the long term. He will get a pay rise and once he's sacked the pay off will boost his retirement kitty a lot. He'd be mad not to accept.
Never mind the long term, Derby have more ‘potential’ in the short term. They will be back in the Premiership long before ‘the likes of Barnsley and Rotherham’. That’s the way of it.
I can't agree, Rotherham are doing fantastic at this time & I believe he had a future there but we agree to disagree.
Nobody seems to be setting the Championship alight, who knows Rotherham could have been the dark horse this year. For every Norwich, Burnley etc there is also teams like Blackpool, Huddersfield etc, dare to dream. Otherwise what’s the point?
not sure it's such a daft move tbh. he probably looks at it and thinks he's taken rotherham as far as he can. yes rotherham are currently championship, but they cling on as much as we do. he'll be thinking there's a strong chance they will swap places next year. despite the absolute basket case that derby has been allowed to become, there's absolutely no doubting they're a bigger club with bigger potential. personally think it's a disgrace how derby have been allowed to do business, but that's not really his problem. and obviously if he does get sacked, he'll get a massive pay off, won't lose any stock and will walk straight back into another job at L1, if not higher. no brainer for him, really.
Personally feel for Rosenior. Reckon he did a pretty good job under the circumstances. Warne will now have to manage something he's not yet had to... huge expectation. Think of the pressure a new boss has on walking through the doors at Oakwell, then multiply it by plenty.
Rosenior has been told he will be offered a coaching job in the new set up but not sure he will accept the role A few disgruntled Derby fans not happy with the appointment as they believe Warne has done nothing but moan for the last few years about the EFL treatment of Derby Derby are a big club and although a job he couldn’t really turn down, if results don’t come quickly this could bite him on his arse
Really like Warne and he's done a cracking job at Rotherham. I don't think he's a good fit for Derby at all though. Nothing against him but I hope he's taken this job for the wrong reason (money) and it all goes belly up quickly. Warne then ends up with a healthy bank balance and Derby are stuck in L1 for another season......everyone's a winner.
Look at Keith Hill, Steve Parkin, Ronnie Moore, Tisdale etc. One club managers who all did naff all elsewhere. Warne's one of those. Hard work and graft only works with below average players to compensate. At Derby he has no need to compensate. Very much like Val with us then under West Brom. Some managers try and reinvent the wheel. If Warne's owt about him he'll do the armchair ride Heckingbottom did with us at the start and is now doing at Sheff Utd.
Sorry SD, but how can you put Warne in that bracket straight away? Little presumptuous bud? Hes only ever managed one club, to suggest he can't do it elsewhere is just disrespectful. Not saying he won't turn out that way, but to say it already before even given the chance isnt fair. Hes been brilliant at Rotherham, and be says it how it is, just like Duff. And if he did moan about Derby and the EFL, even better.
To be honest I don't really care unless they manage Barnsley. Frankly I hope he does do a 5hit job because it will mean Derby haven't gone up.
On that i can't agree with you more, mate Annoys me no end how these type of clubs get away with everything all the time, and the smaller ones get zilch. Let em loiter in league one for many years.
