Awful news. What a player he was. If Barry Rubery hadn't sold him to promotion rival Ipswich half way through the season, he would have got Huddersfield to the Premier League under Steve Bruce.

Terrible news - my boss's wife sadly passed away with it earlier in the year. Stewart was a great striker - really tough for him and his family

Terrible news good player always remeber him scoring against us almost every time he played against us and if Ipswich hadnt have bought him off huddersfield we would probably had been promoted in 2000.

Sad, sad news. I remember the run up to our home game against Ipswich when Bassett was in the press saying he wasn't worth the money they had paid for him. The Town fans let him have it with both barrels when he scored.

I remember him at Wembley as well.

Thoughts with him and his family.
