We've protected our asset, rejected bids we didn't think appropriate for him but still made a pragmatic decision to let him leave, free up some wages but put him in the shop window meaning now I don't think we can really lose. Fair play Khaled.
100% agree with this. The feeding frenzy (yet again) on here last night was on another level. Why the hell people can't be patient and wait until the facts come out really astounds me. It happens time after time after time. However I guess this site is no different to many other football forum sites and I guess it won't change. Ever. "Innocent until proven guilty" means nothing on here.
All that is true and all well and good but I still do not agree in letting him go so close to the end of the window. If this was something they had in mind they could have sorted it before the last few hours of the window. That is still my big gripe with the deal. The futureproofing of his value etc. is great but it leaves us in a rubbish position with no fit player in his position and with the other back up one leaving on the same day.
They’ll probably be a release clause, but it has to be higher than the offers we rejected, otherwise why do it. It’s a curvy ball I didn’t see coming and very good business by the club. Timing isn’t ideal with Cadden not being fit but we can’t choose when the window closes, had we kept him here with no contract extension we’d have cover for Cadden for the few weeks he’s not 100% fit and then we’d be screwed come January losing Styles for less than we’d rejected this window and having paid his wages for 4 more months which we can’t afford
I doubt that is what they had in mind. I think we all know we needed to sell but if no-one comes with right money then you dont sell. I think they have made the best of a bad position all round. Seems many of the Prem clubs use this approach to protect their interest in their own player.
Have you seen him when he’s been made to play at LWB? He’s f’king atrocious. And I think our *Head Coach has to play him because the alternatives are just as bad in Moon and McCarthy.
That is an absolute truth. If and when either of them are playing LWB then they will most certainly not be playing CB or RWB.
Its a shame we couldn't loan moon out kids out of his depth even in this league. Norwood took all the stick v lincoln but that was his chance to stake a claim for a place... just not good enough and lucky to stay on the pitch, worst bit of all is the last 2 clowns played him in the championship.
Yes seems sensible enough if we were looking at losing him for free anyway. Leaves us very short at wing back but we're fairly average anyway so shouldn't change that.
