Adam Hammill, Ronnie Glavin, David Geddis, Mark Smith. Choosing the right experience matters. Snapping up someone on the wane with nothing to prove isn’t the way.
I liked the experience picked up with Winnall, Watkins, Scowen and Hourihane. Games played rather than age.
You never really know do you until they get here. I remember Bristol City signing a 37 (or something) year old Aaron Wilbraham in L1 after he'd scored once at his previous club. He smashed about 20 goals in for them. Fleetwood have got Joe Garner smashing them in now. Wycombe have Scowen, Mawson, Jacobson. I'd have all of them here in a heartbeat.
Oulare? Frimpong? Mido? My point was every signing is a gamble thank **** we only have to endure a season of norwood
We couldn't find a decent player if our life's depended on it . The whole recruitment team need to go . That includes James Crynne and his Bingo machine . This seasons signings have been a disaster so far .
your point is incorrect. With correct scouting and review it should be possible to get it right most times. It won’t always work particularly in the freebie market but you should be able to get more hits than misses
I think last summers signings set us back years were still paying iseka a decent wage and hes no were to be seen and probably a large chunk of oulares wages at his loan club. Were skint and the signings reflect that. Before we had cryne to lend us some money now were still owned by leeches who have taken a back seat.
Contrary to popular belief, we've plenty of experience in the squad. Mads Andersen has played over 100 Championship games, Devante Cole has made going on for 300 professional appearances etc. Age doesn't necessarily mean experience, experience doesn't necessarily mean better, it doesn't necessarily mean more expensive either. We are fishing in a smaller pond though with our budget, which means we're more likely to be after players with league 1 or 2 experience as opposed to championship.
Exactly but the new board said that it was going to change . It's got worse. If Duff stays beyond this year I will be surprised
Like i said in my other post the fact we have sold anyone worth anything and replaced them with freebies, were still paying iseka a decent wage for nothing and probably a percent of oulares wages both are a drain on the budget. Were skint the signings reflect that we dont have cryne snr like before who will lend the club money like previous times.
Always makes me laugh when people mention experience as though it doesn't matter on the pitch, obviously Hemsy being the main culprit; yet every time you hear pundits/managers/coaches, anyone remotely involved in the game, including greats like Fergie/Guardiola/Klopp/Conte/Wenger etc, all mention how important having leadership & experience is. I'm not sure on Norwood yet, he's been poor on the field, but I like the fact Marsh is learning from him in training as he stated. I do think his knowledge & experience will benefit him in the long term. So, even though he hasn't performed yet, the fact we've given him only a year and he is probably helping our younger strikers, I'm alright with that - even if it is just the 'dark arts' what Marsh/Jalo and co pick up on, every other player does it. And if it means we can get out of a tough spot, I'm all for it
FAO James Cryne.. A bit of spreadsheet help.. Your formula needs to amend some ofbthe criteria.. Change the bits where it says sign a player if:- goals<=1 Passing accuracy<=3% Injury prone='Yes' Pace = 'Carthorse' We might improve the outlook.
Theres a diffrence between playing youth who have a idea or can compete or playing players like moon who wouldnt get in my local pub team and was lucky to stay on the field.
