I saw that there were loads in the fridges at half time, so me being me I asked the server if they were still giving them away. No, said he, if you want one we're selling them for five pounds a tin. Yeh, right, said I. Bet they're flying off the shelves !
What percentage is the tax on beer these days? Obviously non-alcoholic beer will be that much cheaper. Obviously.
Not necessarily. Ingredients and time in tank make the process, for some, more expensive. Isn’t just a case of costing the same as the alcoholic version minus duty.
I'm surprised anyone managed to buy one anyway what with the bars being unmanned before kick off and dramatically understaffed at half time leading to queues around the concourse
I got mine before the game started about 15 mins before and waited about 5 mins. Don’t bother at HT anymore.
I wonder, is this the same alcohol free drink , that was free on that day but wasn't free to me when I asked for one ( on that same day).
When I took my seat no. The lights were on but nobody was home, completely unmanned. I know people think it's quite petty but at every single game this season, and at every friendly, and at every game towards the end of last season, around 30 minutes before kick off I've found either barriered off or unmanned kiosks in the ground. That's not good enough no matter what anyone says.
There does seem to be an issue with staffing/retail at the club, and i do understand the frustration.
I get particularly frustrated when it's simple little things that the club fails at because I always think if they can't even manage a food kiosk how the hell can they manage a multi million pound transfer budget. If it helps I'm the same at work too, if people keep ballsing up the basics I tell them.
I laughed at the time, particularly as we won 3-0 that night, but I do take your point, absolutely. It's shoddy, it can be fixed, there could be a sign up at least saying 'we are sorry for the inconvenience..', and it gives the wrong impression. On a deeper level it causes people to lose faith in the wider operations as you point out. Out of interest, was there a sign up communicating why it was closed?
No, I haven't seen any signs at any of the games. Half the time the stock is there, the lights are on etc but there's nobody there, the other half they're in darkness but there's basically never any signs saying why.
