They have 2 premier league games in 6 days with our cup tie sandwiched in the middle. I cannot see them risking any of their first team players against us and have noticed they have a number of their back up players out injured in Ayling Cooper Firpo and Dallas plus Bamford and Gelhart have had injury niggles already so doubt they will be risked. They will still more than likely field a very strong 11 however we have nothing to lose from this game.
I think we'll be full strength the club has never qualified for Europe so it would be nice to win the League Cup and get into the Europa League.
I think it's good that the Wycombe game comes before the Leeds game. The players will be desperate to play at Elland Road so will put in the effort v Wycombe.
https://sportekz.com/football/efl-cup-prize-money/ Teams only got seven grand for winning a second round tie last season. I would rather win the two league games either side of the cup fixture in the hope that by May the club make millions through promotion.
The quoted share of revenues from gate receipts for the Leeds game have been in the £250k region. In a season where we're not going to get promoted and are desperately trying to claw back cash I'd say catching Leeds not taking it seriously and maybe getting another big club would be near the top of my priority list. I'm never usually one of those clamouring to play Man U etc in any given round of the Cup. I'd rather play the lowest ranked team left in the competition to maximise our chances of getting as far as possible. However this season cash is king.
We will make the amount you've mentioned win or lose next week from gate receipts. I agree about cash being king. We couldn't have asked at this stage for a better draw to make money from.
