They don't have as much racism or outright sexism anymore. I'm outraged. I'm going to watch something else in future, something where men are allowed to degrade women
He really is. He was supposed to be coming to one of our disability sports events in Sheffield. He had a last minute rehearsal to do so couldn't make it. Sent a really apologetic e mail saying how disappointed he was, and put our staff on his guest list for the gig.
It was pretty good these two were in a scene when they weren't in the show the same time. Funny Holly getting excited about the money she still gets from being in Taken when she doesn't need it married to a billionaire property developer.
I used to watch it at home as a kid because it was on TV. Our dog recognised the opening music because he got a Bonio then. When he became unwell and the vet said he couldn’t have them we had to mute it otherwise he’d go barmy. He then started to recognise characters’ voices instead. I blame Neighbours and Home and Away for giving me a completely skewed understanding of Australians as a child though. Until I was doing research for a history assignment, I thought that basically everyone is Australia was white. I don’t know if they changed it later on but they didn’t have any representation at all in the 90s or early 2000s, it was like indigenous Australians don’t exist.
I'm happy to be told I've got this wrong but isn't the percentage over 90% white in Australia? So perhaps early 90s 2000s it was representative of the demographic in many areas? Assuming that 10% isn't even spread out among the 90. As I say I could be completely wrong.
I’m not sure. It wouldn’t have hurt them to have representation though when they knew it was being watched abroad. It’s not like the demographic changing by new people arriving and a show changing their cast to represent that - they completely ignored Australia’s indigenous population who have always been there.
It was a very white mainly straight show for most of the run. The last few years changed that especially after the racism scandal that resulted in a cast member who had done about a decade and was a major character written out poorly and quickly.
No it wouldn't I agree, could say it was representative of Australia though who as a society ignored its indigenous people.
