Jerry Fisher's email list was, I believe, the acorn from which this thing grew. Mid-90s?? Not many left on here from those days....
I must have been posting for getting on for 20 years. I joined well before Steve S passed away. That will be 17 years in September.
Think you’re referencing Dani who was one of the twin sisters? I met up with her a couple of times. LD Red did not….
Ah yeah Dani, that's her. Seemed really nice at the time then just stopped coming on here I think. Probably your fault. Nah LD Red was after that and I think the girls he was a big fan of were possibly called Becky and Sarah? Could well have made those up though. I just remembered one of them rolling her car
Ahh the old 606 and official site message boards, thats where I first dipped my toe in lol. Then I found Footymad and Vital mad, but that one wasn't that good. I also started on here under a different name.
In the early days of jerrys list and Radders chat we had loads of the Norwegian Reds on it. They seem to have fallen by the wayside. They came over and we had a very good afternoon with **** and the lads.
The guy I talked to on the bus in the prem season.... he would have been around twentyfive-ish. He was 'out there', I enjoyed listening to him.
I was on Jerry's email list. Can't remember when I joined it but it was before I used any of the other BBS forums. I remember @Sheriff was on it.
The email group was my first incarnation of anything like the BBS. Oddly, once the BBS became a thing I was a lurker but it took me ages before I signed up and posted, and it took an arsey letter received from Gordon Shepherd in response to my whinge at Davey's role being made permanent for me to do it. Got to know some great people on the mailing list. TinaTyke, @Turvey Tyke & the late Paul Senior (Rose-Tinted Red) spring to mind, as does a guy called John, who had emigrated to the USA and used to post regularly from California. There was also Biker Steve(?) and his wife, based in Birmingham, who was quite a character. IIRC he always had to wear his "lucky keks" on matchday, but that could be my mind playing tricks on me.
John Daykin wasn't it? Trying to think of other names. Johnny Lister, Brian Dennis, Rey Bianchi (wasn't he based somewhere in Asia)
John Daykin! Well remembered, Gally. I'm trying to think where Rey Bianchi was located. Hawaii keeps springing into my head, but I'm sure you're right and it was somewhere more exotic. Philippines perhaps?
