I'm sure @Dyson is happy dropping to £20 and I'll drop to £10 as I won't even enter myself in the comp at the end of the season anyway. That means we can include you and @John Peachy so there's more people involved.
If there's an over subscription could the balance just go to charity? Or something from the club shop to be raffled off?
Would really like to be involved. I'm not massively bothered about the prizes, although they are great. I really feel there is a reconnection with the club & the fan base.
Was literally just typing a reply to say I can’t work out if you’re serious or not. Dyson of old would have stuck to his guns. Changed man
Was going to suggest we could have flogged shirt off at end of season and donated the proceeds to Barnsley Hospice or summat. but if folk have put multiples in, probably not fair to do that.
The winner can decide to that if they choose to. Leave the format as it is for now given it's 50+ people.
I’m happy to donate again this year but we need @Loko the Tyke and he now only ever posts stuff relating to the supporter’s club
I've messaged Loko, and he will reply when he can. I don't think the sponsorship ever got finalised. I believe the guy at the club who was dealing with it left and it got lost somewhere along the line, and I don't think this was noticed until it was near the end of the season that it had not actually been actioned at all. As a result, the option is to do it again this season. However, they've made it more expensive now I think and whereas you could sponsor home or away shirts previously it's now a more expensive single payment which is approximately three times the cost as before. I got details below. Dont know how many fans vs businesses did this, but I'd have thought the extra cost would put a lot of fans off (but maybe there's more demand from businesses to do this). Barnsley FC players will now have one sponsor per season, as we come away from the Home/Away Kit sponsorship concept. Therefore, if you sponsored Liam Kitching Home & Away Kit this season; this would be purely the exclusive Official Player Sponsorship of Liam Kitching in 23/24. With one sponsor per player, this will allow for increased usage and affiliation with the player as we look to vastly improve the benefits of the package heading into next season, including – Company Logo in Matchday Programme Company Click-Through Logo on Official Barnsley Football Club Website Matchday Tannoy References (Goal, Sub, etc…) Invitation to Evening Dinner with Sponsored Player Use of Player for Advertising/Marketing Purposes Price - £1,500+ VAT Alternatively, the money could go to charity (maybe Beth's fund). Thoughts? (I'm just the messenger so don't shoot me )
I'm guessing there may be people who will not pick this up, who paid originally and don't realise the sponsorship never actually happened. Is the best thing just to return everyone's money, and start anew if there's enough interest in doing something else?
