Assuming Helik and Styles leave I make this the current squad:

    GK: Collins, Walton, Searle

    RB: Brittain, Wiliams

CB: Andersen, Kitching, McCarthy, Cundy, Moon, Sraha

    LB: Cadden (Kitching, Oduor)

CM: Wolfe, Benson, Kane, Connell, Hondermarck, Ackroyd

    AM: Thomas, Oduor

ST: Iseka, Cole, Norwood, Marsh, Aitchison, Jalo

Based on this, what does eveyone think we still need?

The midfielders are still very inexperienced so I'd expect us to want someone there, but given the numbers and the fact that we rate a few of them I wonder if we'll just stick with what we have!

We do need a striker in my opinion.

That Bakinson who Wednesday look like signing would be perfect for us and would give us some height in midfield at the minute i think we are well short of the quality in depth that we need for a top half finish.

Aitchison can play attacking midfield. I would expect us to line up with an attacking midfielder rather than a DM in most games.

Unfortunately, I still think we need to shift a few of those players.

Agree with this.. the biggest issue i saw saturday was a general lack of support/numbers in the box when a ball was put across.. makes it easier for the defence when they only have 2 to pick up and no late runners from midfield or opposite wing back attacking the back post.
When playing 532 its hugely important to stress to wing backs to get forward and support when the ball is on the opposite flank, Cadden get in at the back post of Brittain is crossing etc etc.. (even if you have to insist when the ball falls to Callum Brittain he passes)
To counter act the lack of cover wide, you have to instruct the defensive midfielder to cover the relevant wing back area if the opposition look to counter.
Anyway im sure the gaffer knows what hes on with.

The problem is I’m not sure we have a midfielder at the club who has the instincts to make a run into the box and score us a few goals.

Move on 5/6 of those and buy a couple of forwards a box to box goalscoring midfielder and a Defensive midfielder

Benson, Kane, Aitchison, Thomas and Connell all offer creativity. We only really have Wolfe that offers a big physical presence in the middle.

no point keeping players who will never be good enough. Most teams in L1 run smallish squads.

Squad depth gonna be huge this season. With 5 subs, many games gonna be decided from the bench.
