There’s a surprise not, but that tells you all you need to know that Truss shouldn’t be anywhere near no 10, yet another horrible Tory Politician.

Wonder who thought announcing this was a good idea? If I was Truss I’d be thinking somebody was out to hamstring my campaign!

That they did it outside No 10 suggests it had Boris's endorsement - even if he doesn't want to say it directly.

It's been moderately entertaining watching the contortions the tory candidates have been going through to pretend they are remotely electable... until you remember you're going to be stuck with one of these morally exempt shapeshifters. As feared, the tory membership seem to be veering towards the psychopath end of the spectrum, so hopefully the majority of those get done over in the MP voting rounds.

As shocking as it sounds, I was hoping Hunt might be a lesser of evils, but he seems to have done full reverse ferret on brexit and to pander to the far right wing nutjobs (or swivel eyed loons as Cameron called them) has suggested he;d have Esther McVey as deputy leader. Frightening!

I agree completely - the problem is though who on the list of runners would you want, several of them would be even worse and none of them much better. Just imagine if Braverman gets it that would be even worse than my worst nightmare Truss is just useless Braverman is evil and useless

It's a frightening list. But Braverman, Mordaunt, Badenoch or Truss would be an absolute disaster. Doubly frightening, 3 of those 4 are the front runners in the eyes of the tory membership along with Mordaunt.

Hunt and Sunak might be tolerable. Go with Patel or Braverman and we've got more years with a pantomime villain in charge.

Starmer and Rayner will be crossing their fingers it comes to pass. It's very important that the Conservative Parliamentary party allow a 'nutter' to go onto the final ballot of the Tory membership. If that happens, the nutter is then selected by their fellow nutters and Labour are back in with a chance.

That’s the right wing vote split, then. Patel was trying to get them to back her and forget Truss.

    Hand bell Hunt.
This is what he did with a handbell; imagine what damage he could do if he had the whole country in his hands.
