Where is bloody @orsenkaht with his winning tips :D He's usually ahead of the game helping the rest of us when the big meetings/races are around.....Baaeed yesterday showed again why it's being called the new Frankel. It never looks like losing and has some good battles ahead later this year hopefully including York.

You'd not have thanked me for my selections yesterday, db3000!

First up, Baaeed. Yes - he's the best around at the moment. But Timeform reckon that he'd need to be receiving nearly a stone from Frankel to be competitive with the best of all time! And yesterday Baaeed was less far clear of Real World than he had been at Newbury. Frankel doubled his margin of superiority over Excelebration in the Queen Anne as compared to their meeting in the Lockinge. I think he can probably take the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood, but I think there's a real chance he could be vulnerable over the extra two furlongs at York with Maljoom, Adayar, Desert Crown and Bay Bridge possibly awaiting him. It could be the race of the decade if they don't all swerve each other!

As for today - these are not tips. But I'm backing Love Reigns (2.30), Bay Bridge (3.40) and Dark Shift (5.00). Good luck if you follow me in - you may need it!

Backed state of rest based solely on seeing him in the parade ring, looked absolutely ripped.

    Definitely not tips!

    But today I am backing:

    3.05 Secret State (5/1) + Israr (15/2)
    5.00 King Of Time (11/2) + Wanees (8/1)
    6.10 Montassib (9/2) + Tanmawwy (14/1)

The other races, although smaller fields are very tricky. In the first I find it hard to split The Antarctic and Walbank. The 3.40 is a tight affair with all six potentially open to more improvement. In the Gold Cup (4.20) Trueshan won't like the ground, Stradivarius might not be quite as good as he was, and Kyprios although possessing more potential doesn't quite yet have the level of form of the prior two. Cases could be made for Tashkan, Burning Victory and Princess Zoe too! The Queen's Reach For The Moon should win the 5.35 but is way odds on. Great racing though.

I like the look of a couple today.

3.05 - Secret State (sorry Orsen, probably jinxed it now).
    3 40 - Mukaddamah.

Both improving horses and the prices aren't too bad.

Whatever you do today though, don't back anything that wants soft ground. It'll be like the M1 down there today, and even quicker tomorrow.

True Shan has expectedly withdrawn so you’d expect it to be down to two.
We all know Stradivarius but the favourite could be anything.
Probably best to leave race alone but how can Stradivarius be left alone for a few bob ?
He’s certainly won me enough in the past

I think my bet Brave nation could have actually won that, massively hampered there.

He was certainly in there pitching at the time. No chance after Paul Hanagan came across. Unlucky, Wakey.

You are totally right …. if that had have happened in America or France, the Ridler would have been disqualified.
But the favourite would have been given the race ( at least I’d have been happy !)

Got a 7/1 winner with Claymore. The favourite owned by Lizzie was too short and I like a omen so as a Wrestling fan I went for it as Scottish wrestler Drew Mcintyre has the Claymore Kick as his finisher.

Quite bizarre reason but it won so good on you.
Had 2 quite big bets and both didn’t win so gave up.
Tomorrows card looks to have some very big fields… Bet365 and Skybet have started offering up to 8 places but I’ll still find one to finish 9th

Jockey gets a 10 day ban but it’s no consolation for my £10 down the drain.

    Not Tips!

    But today I am backing:

    3.40 Trawlerman (5/1) + Just Fine (9/2)
    4.20 Spendarella (11/1) + Tenebrism (10/1)
    5.00 Zanbaq (12/1) + Heredia (9/2)
    5.35 Changingoftheguard (15/8)

In the opener I find it hard to separate Mawj and Meditate and they are too short to combine. The Commonwealth Cup features a re-match of five runners from last month's Sandy Lane Stakes at Haydock. There was not much between them then and you couldn't rule out them finishing in a different order today. Add in Perfect Power and Ehraz and you have a race that is too difficult to call, in my opinion. The handicap that closes the card features 28 runners over five furlongs. No thanks!

Frankie got a lot of flack after the Gold Cup yesterday. It seems John Gosden was a bit arsey with him and the Italian had the baggy lip on thereafter. His mood won't have been helped by two close seconds in the following races. But the plain fact is that Stradivarius at the age of eight no longer has the tactical speed to extricate himself from sticky positions. Frankie is aware of this, hence his somewhat anxious demeanor throughout the race. Factor in also that several Gosden runners have performed below par at this meeting. I'd be wary of backing Inspiral in the Coronation Stakes today for that reason, and also because she has had a far from perfect preparation for this seasonal debut. I have stuck with their Trawlerman in the 3.40 though, as that one has already had a successful run at Chelmsford this season. Good luck, folks!

Hard today I think. I had a little look last night and I've had 2 bets.

3.10 - Perfect Power. Strongly fancy this. Didn't stay in the Guineas, but cleaned up over sprint distances last season and has trained on as evident by the Greenham win. Don't like the Sandy Lane form.

3.40 - Candleford. Got to be drawn on the outside over middle distances at Ascot, otherwise you get boxed in on the rails. Progressive and improving, strong chance.

Perfect Power does stand out and I reckon 4’s / 9/2 is a generous price.
I also reckon that Soumillon is a pretty good replacement for Hanagan !
