We’ll be fine on that front. Most targets will have been identified already and I’d guess discussions are already in place. New Head Coach next week to rubber stamp some of the deals, push for some departures, and then move on to the next phase of recruitment.

I’m confident we’ve got everything in hand. Biggest worry is about who it ends up being. Hopefully it’s Duff.

Not for me. I wouldn’t be disappointed, I just think it’s a risk and at completely the wrong time. That ship has sailed in my mind.

The only thing with Duff i think he may be a yes man and at this moment in time i do think we need someone to answer the board back and not just lie down. Although we have a different board which hopefully is going to be more forthcoming, we don't want them to settle into old habits

What on earth has made you get to that conclusion? Massively insulting of Duff is that and is just completely fabricated.

They don’t really have old habits to fall in to. Given they couldn’t stop some of the habits you’re referring to.

No way on earth does Duff come over as a yes man.A legend at Burnley playing in the Premiership at 37 year old.He comes over to me as the complete professional both as a player and a manager.

There’s nothing, anywhere, that suggests this. But it’s the kind of comment that get made when the view of the club is negative or pessimistic.

It’s what the new board need to change over the next 18 months through their actions. Although let’s be honest, it will never go aware fully because that’s just how football fans are sometimes.

Sorry i didn't want an argument, it is my opinion, i have been watching and supporting the reds for 70 years which is probably a lot longer than you and i have got used to shall we say wierd ideas and decisions from our various boards through the years therefore i always expect and fear the worst(like happened last season) . From your answer do you know Duff personally, you saying i am insulting him. When he was a player he was an ok player not outstanding and i haven't seen him pulling trees up at Cheltenham.

You won’t find an argument here.

He won League Two with Cheltenham and has led them to their highest ever league finish last season, bringing on younger players, and playing an easy on the eye brand of football. Excellent article in The Guardian (I think) about his success, and this is for a team that still has Grant McCann as their record signing (£50k).

I thought Nigel Spackman was the best appointment we’d ever made, so what do I know, but Duff appears, on the outside at least, to be exactly what we’ve been shouting and screaming for; British, experienced, on the up, clear identity, someone the young players will listen to and respect, someone the fans will buy in to, someone who is used to a budget but could flourish given one that exceeds what they’re used to.

If he does get the job i hope he does well and i will give him reasonable time but on the other hand i feel Warnock is proven and will get results quicker

I think the risk with Warnock is that it isn’t a long term plan, and if it goes wrong you’re arguably further behind than where you started.

This next appointment should be one with a long term view of building for the future and righting the wrongs of the last 12 months.

I understand your sentiments mate, I would have agreed 6/7/8 months ago when we were battling to survive to appoint Warnock 10000%. But I really don't think so now we've been relegated. I don't think he will be here longer than a year, regardless of how we're performing. Ever the optimist, but I'm with Loko, and I want Duff too, hopefully to build over the next few years. Keeping hold of a manager/head coach for more than 18 months, I think anyway, is important if we are to manage said rebuild. And I'm not sure where you get the 'yes man' from, I don't see it personally with Duff
