Still haven't been there which is poor considering I live in York. On the list of places to go with my daughter.
My 7-year-old daughter wanted to make some YouTube videos so we tried doing a few reviews of places we've been as a family and I've been helping her with it. WE've done a few reviews of (paid) attractions so far. Dig, Beatle Bank Farm and Baloon Tree Farm in York as well as a nice lunch for my wife's birthday by the marina in Bishopthorpe. AS someone who's been into photography for a while it's given me the chance to get a bit more into video shooting and editing and I've quite enjoyed the process. Anyway, have a look and subscribe to our channel. At the very least you can take the piss Channel -> https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_3gKcUT_fqPH3vEszakrjw VIdeos so far WE've got a few others in the pipeline whenever I can finish editing them together. Currently working on a Piglets, York one. They invited us to go (for free) and chucked in food and drink so feel somewhat under pressure to deliver something of a reasonable standard Also, have footage from a couple of trips to Gullivers Valley, Creepy Crawlies, Nayburn Lock in York (just a nice place for a picnic so costs nowt), Mothershiptons Cave, York Minster, Lotherton Hall, Things to do in York with kids. The editing is definitely the time-consuming part of it all
Well I'd absolutely love to take the piss but sadly I can't. I've only watched the beetle bank farm one so far but absolutely loved it. The music was just right, nice and happy, perfect volume, just right for the video. The editing in general was spot on, the production seems professional quality. Very informative with the price of food etc included. Your daughter was loving life too even if she did get pooed on. There are many advertising agencies would be proud to make a marketing video like that.
If you are in the area, Newborough Beach and Forest on Anglesey is really nice - and Rhosneigr further along the South Coast (with flypasts from Valley Airbase). Keep looking at Trearddur Bay, but haven't had chance to visit yet. Beaumaris is nice for a visit, but the £5 parking hurts me as a Yorkshireman In the other direction, Harlech and Barmouth both have decent beaches - depending on how old the kids are - and Harlech has a castle that is owned by Cadw, so reduced prices for English Heritage members - and a WW2 plane buried under the beach that is only visible on rare occasions. Would also recommend for food the Slate at Tal-y-bont (about 2-3 miles from Penhryn Castle) outside Bangor and Dylan's at Menai Bridge.
We went to Beaumaris last year when we were here and it was great crabbing off the pier and wandering round the castle. To be fair the weather is fine today so we might have a traipse to Abersoch and see what’s there.
Took my 2 year old to Eureka in Halifax quite expensive first time but then after that you get free admission for a whole year
Yeh, I've done the museum forgot about that, they had an Egyptian mummy in there in good condition, very weird looking at it, worth going for free.
