    We're not far off as it is if everyone accepts their contract offers! I think we've currently 30 players who have played for us at first team level. Then Aitchison, Winfield and possibly Ariely and Flavell who may well in and around squads next season.

    The only current first teamers we've offered contracts to are Palmer and Vic. Who else DannyWilson? Unless you're including the youth?

    The last 3 games under Devaney showed the direction of travel including our "youth" in the first 11 and matchday squads.

    Players who are/were out of contract as at 30th June and not released.... (and I've mentioned this multiple times, but just for completeness), Palmer, Adeboyejo, Hondermarck, Wolfe, Sraha, Helliwell, Thompson, Bremang, Ackroyd, Ariely, Winfield. Thats 11, and that doesn't include Flavell. Given they've been offered contracts, and some have signed them, someone must think they have a future at the club and are expected to be competing for the first team.

    We can't just ignore 19-22 year old contract offers. Especially when there are loads of them.

    If we weren’t offering contracts to these players the club would be accused of trying to close down the U23s and the Academy. Or the future of the Academy would be called in to question given we’d be releasing youngsters with potential so early.

    A lot of those contracts have been offered with development in mind. They’re not solely with an eye on competing for the first team next year. They also have next to zero impact on the overall wage bill in the grand scheme of things, Wolfe aside. Have you got a link to confirm all those are out of contract and have been offered new ones? Does your link show next season as well?

    I hope so. Hassell did mention not concentrating on the u23s and sending players out on loan more to level them up. Something I agree with. Hopefully some of the players offered will be sent out because I don't think they are good enough for the squad yet.

    What wishes? It’s just a conversation about football and asking for more info. You’ve obviously seen something a lot of others haven’t, so would be good to share that.

    The retained list article doesn’t show all players you mentioned as out of contract or having contract offers on the table, that’s all.
