Only if you believe that any single season on the pitch is the only consideration. Let's see what next season looks like. Under the current regime it could be a lot worse than either of the two under discussion.
Are you seriously suggesting that because we lost to Crawley things were worse then? Have you no eyes to see beyond the pitch to the absolute catastrophe of ownership and organisation? No. Actually I know you don't. Barnsley, Esbjerg and Nancy all relegated but don't worry, we have owners who are absolute geniuses. We'll be able to loan more youngsters to France and Denmark next year what with the clubs being that much closer to the level of Guiseley. Yippee.
You're entitled to your opinion but I think you are in a firm minority, maybe a minority of one. I was at both those games and neither comes close to any number of games this season, although I would agree if you are now acknowledging that that the performance of Frimpong that day at Watford was a total and utter disgrace. The Crawley game saw a mixture of talented youngsters learning their trade, ultimately to lead us to one of our most memorable seasons a year later. The fact that there was loads of talent obvious to all of us there is also shown by the fact that we won the next six games on the spin! So no, nowhere near as poor a position as now. Or are you someone who would take Palmer over Scowen? Styles for Hourihane? Vic in preference to Winnall? Maybe Moon or Kitching over Mason Holgate??? I could play 'carp game' or 'carp season' Top Trumps with you all night (I remember thinking at Coventry a few weeks ago 'Jesus this is worse than Altrincham under Johnson') but that would be to miss the point too. The current malaise is beyond that, it's the whole of the ownership and executive leadership of the club that have given us mass alienation of the loyal supporter base, our worst ever financial situation in terms of losses and a dogmatic, incoherent, inflexible, failed approach to recruitment that have left us with collectively the lowest calibre of players I have ever seen. Those are the rotten planks on which BFC 2022's existence is teetering.
You're answering Hemsworth Tyke. The guy who, without irony, put Frimpong in his best ever Barnsley 11. There is nothing to be gained from engaging with him.
It really wasn’t. The current team and watching them is worse than when I first started and we were regularly getting hammered in the 4th division (as was)
Not sure about the brighter future thing, & whilst I for the most disagree with the supporters trust’s approach, Loko has actually been critical of the board on numerous occasions these past few weeks.
To be fair Conway is the only member of the board we’ve seen or heard from so it’s not hard to see why people direct their anger directly at him when really it’s directed at all of PMG.
According to our fan rep it’s all Conway and other then that PMGs involvement has been an amazing success story.
