Some of you folks may know the full picture, but after a quick scan, it looks to me as though we're in dire straits.

Several players who would command a fee are out of contract or in the last year of a deal: Helik, Woodrow, Styles, Collins, Brittain. Surely, Woodrow isn't out of contract and can leave as a free agent like last season's captain!

Of the players who are tied up, it looks like: Morris, Cole, Iseka, Wolfe, Williams. Then we've got Benson on a 4-year deal and Kane possibly coming back after the loan.

I might be wrong as this is gleaned from BFC website. Can we join a 5-a-side league?

The only players out of contract with no option for an extra year are Palmer, Adeboyejo, Miller, Hondermarck and Helliwell. Halme is out of contract but we have the option to extend it for a year.

Only Helik and Woodrow have expiring contracts in a years time with no extension option of the players you list.

How does it work? Say we try to keep Helik, do we put a new deal on the table or try and get him to sign an extension? Otherwise, presumably he's off on the cheap.

Helik hasn't got an extension option. Any that do, we can trigger automatically. We've done this with a fair few players including Mowatt.

With Helik, we'd have to sit down with him, say what we could afford to pay, and see if he accepted or not. Given we'll be in League 1 next year and desperately need to cut costs and generate cash, I can't see Helik being here next year.

Its simple - Helik has one year left on his current deal.
If nothing happens at the end of next season he is a free agent and can do what he likes
So we either sell him now ( or in January but thats likely to be a worse price)
or persuade him to sign a new contract to take him to 2024 or beyond
As a new contract is not realistic we have to sell him this Summer really

I listed five players and should have added Anderson. So, basically half the first team are on their bike and there's not much we can do to keep them.

4 of the first team are returning to parent clubs. Then there’s some fringe players that will be free agents.

Everybody else will be contracted. We have the power to keep them, but we don’t have the money to pay them.
