I hope it doesn't go to pot when he's fit and we shoe horn him in for someone in form like Spurs did with Kane for Moura in 2019.
I’d say probably still a little bit away but a fit Cauley improves our match day squad no doubt. I bet he’s looking forward to playing with Quina and Bassi after feeding off scraps all season.
If he was out on the training pitch, then I’d say he won’t be far off. There were similar pics posted of Andersen and Morris earlier in the season and they were still an age from playing. If he is available for the last handful of games, we’ll either have been playing well and still be in with a chance of survival, in which case he starts on the bench. Or, we’ll be gone and we might want to favour forwards more likely to be here next season.
Out of the squad, Devante. If we’re wanting him in the first 11, I could comfortably see either Bassi or Quina dropping deeper for possibly Gomes. I think he’s still probably a while way yet. And even then, he’ll have to be eased back in.
I have read a few comments on a couple of forums quite dismissive of the return of Cauley which actually are laughable , yes we have picked some good points up lately but if fans think that we are not going to get injuries or are not going to require options then they are mistaken , we need a fully fit Cauley firing on all cylinders , if we are going to make a fight of it then you need your better players available as much as possible & Cauley is certainly one of our better players .
Gomes could be the fall guy to get Woodrow, Morris, Styles, Bassi and Quina all in the same starting line up. Looking forward to seeing Russell Howard get to play with our new loanees.
Iseka to come too. With a decent team around him he could look a much better player. Even Adeboyejo back will be useful!
