    You cannot beat the flavour of lamb slow cooked with the red wine and mint gravy.
    So much was there that we've had to bring a doggy bag back. Tomorrow's tea back home.
    The Britannia is a lovely old pub and does some great local beers. I'm sure some of you will know it.

    Lovely pub been many times when stopping at Langdale Lodges , decent beer as well

    I remember having a roast king Henry in the Queen’s Head in Hawkshead maybe 30 years ago when it was a truly authentic Lake District Inn. I’ve never forgotten how quintessentially Cumbrian it was.
    The Queens Head has evolved into a less unique experience than it was but I can still almost taste that lamb.
