POYA ASBAGHI DELIVERS UPDATE AT PRESS CONFERENCE Interviews Poya Asbaghi discussed current topics at his press conference on Wednesday afternoon. Continue reading on the official site...
“If we decide to fill them or not, that’s another discussion. But I think there are other people who can answer those questions better than me.”
Hopefully he is a great coach. Seems uninspiring and maybe a bit out of his depth to me. We need to give him time. For me we are as good as relegated, unless some serious additions are made.
Key take aways. Frieser hasn't gone to enable us to bring in a better striker despite the whole lot of them being awful this season. The manager hasn't got a clue if we'll sign any players. That's nowt to do with him and it's better if other people answer that. The problem being that those other people are currently a bit busy hand writing a few thousand books of vouchers after the printing industry collapsed and anyone who isn't doing that is even busier knitting a woolly blanket big enough to pull the wool over the eyes of anyone who asks about the £750,000. And we haven't yet identified what positions we are desperately lacking in. Nobody has noticed we don't have a midfield yet. Sounds to me like the board and indeed manager have seriously decided that we are to accept relegation without a whimper and see what happens next year.
Seems to keep repeating that he doesn't have much if any say in replacing players. One day he will realise that he is in an impossible position, will say something out of place and be shown the door.
Poya: Ask the CEO CEO: Ask the owners Owners: Nothing. Zilch. Nada. Until that is, the ST begging letters come, and the 'we're learning about the British game all the time' and 'we promise this season will be a belter' statements come pouring out. And folk will buy it ......
I really don't think I'll be renewing. I've just lost all interest. Assuming we do go down I may go to some away games if we are doing OK. I just feel total apathy to be honest. I no longer get angry or disappointed when we lose. I don't care about the £750k. I don't care that our team is terrible. That already the new coach is pointing out he has no say in transfer activity or even knowledge on if we are trying to strengthen. I've only bothered to attend 4 home games this season. Maybe it happens to us all but as someone who has attended regularly since the early 90s had a season ticket since the prem season (never seemed necessary before that) gone to 100s of away games. I do wonder if I am alone in this feeling or if it could be more widespread. Time will tell, and I do understand that a pick up in form can change everything.
So the head coach had a press conference and spoke some words but actually said nothing of substance apart from he knows nothing about anything to do with player recruitment and retention.
Loads in same boat pal. Think most people are still only going for the social aspect at the minute. In my BFC whatsapp group we’d do between 5-15 away days each over the course of a normal season, so best part of 100 games. This year we’ve done 2 between us (2 went to Bolton in cup). It’s not even on anybodies radar to travel anymore.
Arguably the worst thing that has happened under this ownership is the amount of people saying similar things.
I think he is just focused on what he can impact, I find that sensible, if not inspiring. Doesn't strike me as out of his depth, he's only just getting going.
It's very sad isn't it. The only thing I feel bad about is the social side. I really get on with all the people we sit around. As I've shared on here before life at home can be very hard in our house and its always been my little bit of 'normal' but i just feel so flat about it.
When asked about Woodrow and Oulare injuries his tone seemed to me like he was a bit miffed. Our physios must be away on holiday as he had no ideas how long Woodrow's knee injury would cause him to be absent( West brom bound maybe) and Oulare has a shoulder and knee injury and could be out til the New Year.... (2023 that is). Somebody I think is taking us for a ride.... again .
Errrrrm...yea thats how i read it too....like an hour conversation with Trevor Brooking when he was a pundit.
