MATCHDAY PROTOCOL AT OAKWELL Club News Here is the key information supporters need to be aware of when attending Oakwell. Continue reading on the official site...
Step 1 watch on TV. SIXTY minutes before kick off? Double the usual thirty? It shouldn't take any longer to get in as long as people don't hold up queues trying to log in to the app at the turnstile. How do those checking QR codes or NHS letters know they belong to the person showing it when we don't have to show photo ID?
OK my big takeaway from that is this bit. "Face coverings are advised though not required to be worn by supporters when they are in their allocated seats in the stadium bowl" Stadium Bowl?
Franchise of the Yorkshire tykes will play the Albion franchise from Birmingham in our Friday night match up in the English league of champions.
I guarantee the BBS will have at least one story of someone who couldn't get in to the game due to lack of proof.
Will the club reverse measures from 27th Jan to fall in line with the most recent government guidance (haven't read anything anywhere from the club on this but may have missed it?): https://www.gov.uk/guidance/nhs-covid-pass
We still have a game on Tuesday. I know it's away from home, but it's sensible to get that fixture over with before communicating any changes to matchday protocol. Which I assume we'll cover in the lead-up to Bournemouth.
The guidance says: 'However, some venues or events may still choose to require proof of COVID-19 status as a condition of entry to reduce risk for attendees and staff.'
Can't argue with that, last thing we want is fans turning up Tuesday with the wrong info, government rules change that often you couldn't blame anyone for being confused
From what I can gather, Thursday should see changes for fans. But there will remain protocols for players and staff, visiting media etc. Red Zones and Purple Zones will remain in situ, to try and make sure cases are limited, and thus games aren't getting cancelled all the time. But until I've the words in front of me, who knows?! Boris loves a dead cat.
