We were told the reason for changing our style was because the players were not increasing in value enough by just winning games. This season almost none of our players look good enough for League 1 never mind the championship so this isn’t working very well
Collins all the rest have devalued and by the looks gone backwards. I wouldnt be sorry to see any go in January ive watched us sell pinnock, winnall, conor etc over the years and been gutted but i couldnt care less if any of these got sold but you just know the owners would pocket the cash.
We aren’t going anywhere until the ‘brains trust’ at the top admit they haven’t got a clue and let somebody recruit a balanced squad of experience and youth!
can’t agree about Collins, his back must be well dodgy keep bending down to pick the ball out of the net, when his defence have let him down again!
We'll probably sell Andersen, Helik and Styles in Jan for a third of their value 12 months ago. Then replace them with 19 year old gambles and maybe, just maybe, we'll get to Easter without being relegated yet.
I am not having a g at Collins here because largely he's done nothing wrong but I think his value will be dropping like a stone this season purely because of the amount of goals he's letting in (which isn't his fault). His value was high last season when we were keeping clean sheets but it can't be as high this season when we arent
The defence are gash even in grassroots football your told dont let the ball bounce i watched anderson let the ball bounce went over his head and then had no clue. The benny hill tune would have been appropriate.
We've gone between championship and league one over the last 6-7 seasons. Last year was a combination of superb management and the momentum you need to succeed. It's boring but the reality is that we are just going round in footballing circles with this ownership.
I think teams will be looking at more than just clean sheets and goals conceded stats. He’ll be high on saves and saves versus expected goals.
Collins is still the only one. Morris and Andersen it’s harder to judge as they’ve missed a large chunk of the season but everyone else must have severely decreased in value.
Sorry can't agree with you, Aaron Ramsdale relegated two seasons running behind crap defences signs for Arsenal for £20 million.
did we ever get any bids for those players? If not, then it’s difficult to judge what their value was.
The CEO said there were none, hence the infamous 'failure' comment. But if you believe what you read, Leeds and Palace were looking at Styles. Many fans including me felt he should've been our first 8-figure fee sale at the time.
Yes, wasn’t there a crackers statistic that suggested Dave Watson might be the top premiership keeper from our year there purely down to the number of shots he saved. Totally disregarding the fact that he must have faced twice as many and we collectively let a few in that season?
But fans view of the value of their team’s players is often higher than the view of any potential buyers. If there was a chance of getting an 8 figure fee, he’d be gone. Probably even for 5m.
