I see that our honourable leaders are taking the p*ss to even newer depths Not only have they got the Met Police - who I thought served the public not the government to agree not to investigate their rule breaking in the past , Just think about that for a moment crimes committed in the past shouldnt be investigated..... ( you try getting police to attend in time to catch an active burgler even if you call 999 whilst he is in the house) But are now attempting to change the law so that if they disagree with a Judge they can just overrule him That is in addition to the already planned changes to make it illegal to protest and almost impossible to challenge them in the courts anyway. Surely even Tory supporters cant believe this is a good thing - an important part of democracy is being able to hold the government to account and expect its to live by the same rules as the rest of us A Police state however operates in exactly the way we are heading the thing that panics me is I dont see how this can be stopped when they have such an overwhelming majority in the house (despite a majority of the electorate voting against them ) and a generally sympathetic media - in fact I am surprised the Times broke this story ( though not as surprised as if it had been the Telegraph or BBC)
We are sleepwalking into a police state. It's doesn't matter to most people, they like the floppy haired ****.
Given his latest polling ratings, not even the Tories like the floppy haired delinquent... Unfortunately, they appear to favour Liz Truss and the unelected Lord Frost...
Im not political nor do i normally comment on these kind of issues. However last year the police came to my old house and wished to have a chat with me about "all night parties" at my house and my two daughters who held them. The offices were very annoyed when i informed them that one daughter worked in care (long hours) and my other daughter is in livepool at uni. They had decided to investigate these parties within 24 hours of it being reported. The police guys were ok and appologised profusely.....they did say that 85% of their investigations were people being stitched up. This doesnt sound like what happened at downing street.
So police can now only investigate future crimes? I'm sure that's the plot of a Tom Cruise sci fi film...
This. And they won't wake up until it's way too late. And let's not forget Johnson is only the puppet of those in the shadows. First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me. Martin Niemoller
I posted about this before - http://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/this-is-scary.308757/#post-2830387 Who needs the rule of law and separation of powers anyway?
They are good at trying to hide terrible news with something else. But the announcement that the government plan to go hard on drug users by taking away their driving license and passport means Gove will be screwed.
That'll work because of course all druggies have a current driving licence and passport a day wouldn't dream of driving without one!
They’re an utter joke, slashing funding at every stage, attacking lawyers and judges, and all they have to do is repeat the lie that they’re serious about crime and the Tory faithful will lap it up. I genuinely believe there’s not a better example of what’s wrong with the country. They can do what they like, so long as the lie is attractive enough.
Half the population are less intelligent than the median, and the median isn’t a genius. There is a dearth of critical thinking in our society, and it allows the government to get away with absolutely anything they like.
