afraid that all away football fans are tarred with the same brush due to every club having it's own morons read on here that ours were poorly behaved saturday on the train, hull fans the other week caused damage up wombwell so can't argue at SYP restrictions
It’s, as it reads. No designated pub. The only one I’ve ever known to be given over to away fans is the Victoria. Those not travelling mob handed. Will chance their arm. (Those mob handed will get escorted straight to the ground,) This is not a phenomenon of just SYP. Can’t go into Blackpool then can. Can’t go into Preston then can. Can go into Shepherd’s Bush then can’t Can go into Bristol, then can’t, then can. As an organiser of an independent group. It pees me off that on many occasion busses are not allowed within 10 miles of an away ground. Even though it’s a general rule, that is relaxed sometimes depending on where you’re going. Most London grounds are not an issue. Until they deal with those ( banned from travelling with the independents) that travel on the train. Things will never change. And as someone else says, gets us all tarred with the same brush.
We have never had any bother with Huddersfield as far as I can remember. This is so draconian & unwelcoming it is absurd.
Maybe not at Home mate. But was an incident a few yrs back when some Barnsley fans were reportedly ambushed on way back to Huddersfield train station.
That’s right, it was Blue (Steve) who is/ was an organiser with Courthouse Reds and who’s family own Gee Vee Travel. Him and, I think it was the guy who’s often described as Frank Gallagher, they left the ground just after half- time the season we lost 5-0 I think it was. As they approached the railway station they were attacked. He said cops woke him up and then arrested him. He successfully fought this conviction after he obtained cctv footage showing they were innocents who were attacked. I’ve heard other stories of small groups of Barnsley fans being attacked as they walked to their cars at Huddersfield. They certainly have a sizeable unruly element
Glad away fans still got to have a pint. They were in full voice at going up to 2 in Silkstone Inn, adding some atmosphere in there without any trouble.
Everything seemed good natured today, other than the flares thrown on the pitch. Don't have an issue with Huddersfield fans TBH.
Another plus yesterday Brewdog opened here so somewhere for our fans to check out in the return fixture. Just the 28 drafts to get through... https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/whats-on/food-drink-news/first-look-inside-new-brewdog-22346499
