If I've learnt one thing about Barnsley folk in my 40+ years of association with the town, it is that they won't be taken for a ride. And we are being taken for a ride. The togetherness you speak of should be used as a force to out these shambolic charlatans.
absolutely right! and why are the BFC owners/senior managers who are of non-British heritage insulted, slandered and vilified by some posters whilst in contrast not a word is said against their counterparts who are of British heritage? Is racism alive and well on this site ?
Absolute rubbish as usual. You are always in such a rush to find oppression and discrimination where there is none and it does you no favours at all. Owners who are vilified. The 80% mob Owners who are not. The 20% lot Only difference you see. Nationality Difference everyone else sees. Who has control. Who is making key decisions. Who is lying to us. Who took three quarters of a million out of the club after saying they wouldn't. Which of us is racist there? I'd say it's the one who only sees the race of the people in question.
Yes we should all just sit by and watch the 80% mob destroy OUR club by using it as an experiment in turning a sports club into retail outlet for professional footballers while they buy any medium size club in the rest of Europe whose present owners are prepared to hold their noses and sell to them while indirectly using money from our club to fund this (Before anybody asks I mean the £750k used to pay part of what they owe to the Crynes which meant they had £750k to spend buying other clubs). Anybody still prepared to give these charlatans the benefit of any doubt is either deluded and in complete denial or really just a bit thick. The club is rotten at the top and withering away below droves of staff left in the summer and the players obviously do not want to play for the club any longer. We've signed a coach who let's be honest wasn't signed to keep us up he's been signed to try to maximise player sale profit by a board who think that's all that matters..They have brought nothing to the club at all where's is the promised international investment and sponsorship. Where are the ground and match day experience improvements. The club is plunging towards L1 and a multi million pound deficit in income and with the bank balance having been plundered along with the boards stupidity in the belief they could change a playing style from one that brought on field success to one they believed would increase player saleability and profitability without a care what effect that had on players performances and results have in fact slashed the squads value the club is in big trouble. To those that say the club will bounce straight back up, I say I'm sure the fans of Ipswich, Sunderland, Bolton etc thought they'd walk L1 too.
I would not say it's racism Red Taff, my feeling is that people don't like these present owners because they are multi-millionaires and are not piling money into the club. When they 1st took over they made it clear they were not going going to splash the cash but keep the club on a sound footing and in today's climate that is not a bad thing.
Are they multi-millionaires? Or do they simply control some of the investments of multi-millionaires?
What will we lose if they are driven out they've put absolutely nothing in and taken £750k out. We could have local business people who care about the club running it and the club would be no worse off financially.
The club is not on a sound financial footing though is it it's facing a relegation induced £7 million deficit it's bank balance as gone from a multi million £ surplus to not much and the value of the squad has been driven down by a spectacular failure in head coach recruitment and a board devised playing style change
The board member who attracts the most criticism on here by some considerable margin happens to be a WHITE CHRISTIAN MAN so I would say your accusation is complete ********
I'm also intrigued who the senior managers of British heritage are who are given an easy ride by fans.
The way so many employees have left in such a short space of time is very worrying. Clearly it's not a great place to work. The owners made an agreement to buy the club and they've since defaulted on their payments claiming some legal loophole. This has gone to the high court. More worrying. The new CEO says last season wasn't especially successful as the club hadn't received big money bids for players in the summer, despite the pandemic seriously hampering most clubs' spending power. Dreadful PR and more worrying. The fact that these owners also own 5 or 6 other clubs around Europe and Barnsley is only one of their portfolio from each of which they're probably drawing considerable wages. Very worrying. Barnsley are just a small cog in their big financial ventures. We don't matter that much in the long run, they're only really bothered about the money. Look at the likes of Rotherham, with a chairman who is 100% committed to the club. Middlesbrough too. I'd much rather be run by an owner who has a similar passion for the club as me and not a set of financial chancers.
I agree to an extent. The toxicity being shown towards the ownership is understandable (to a degree) and everyone has their right to voice their opinion however they like. I think the toxicity being shown towards players though isn't helping the situation in the slightest. On the field, they're the only ones who can get us out of this mess. They need supporting, not berating. On Wednesday night, a bloke near me shouted "you're **** Jordan", at Jordan Williams, within earshot of him, just after he'd broken down a Swansea attack. The constant needless berating of Obbi Oulare on here as well; if football has been his dream his entire life, and he's battling injury after injury, he needs support, not accusations that he's only here to pick up a pay packet. I dread to think what his mental state might be like. So yes, if you don't like how the club is run, voice your opinion, organise a protest, or vote with your feet. But if you still intend on supporting this football club, get behind the players at least.
There are a lot of people on here, who have a very strange way of showing their supposed ‘love’ for the club. They know who they are and don’t appear to give a toss about their bilious, repetitive ***** & the damage & offence it causes... We should look more at the quality of our support, not the football. At least that’s something within our power to control..
Totally agree. Certain posters rant and gripe constantly on ANY subject. Bunch of lonely sad sacks whose only friend is social media.
I can help here....A football person, a genuine bloke too. Ive already suggested him...Huw Jenkins (x Swansea).
nothings going to change dramatically overnight, i think he'll rectify little things in turn, so i wont start to judge the guy, the board, the club until the end of the january window. unlike some on here i.m not the ceo of a multi billion pound organisation, i've not got accrington stanley to the champions league final on fifa, or am i the worlds leading authority on everything. i'm just a blow in of 40+ years from donny so I chose this club, if i can watch some of the dross we've had to put up with over the years i'm sure i can weather this blip. once a red always a red
I wouldn't have a go at any of the players. The issue is with how the club is being run, particularly how shoddy the "match day experience" is. Conway & Co do not give a flying V. https://www.guitarplayer.com/gear/get-your-wings-the-history-of-gibsons-iconic-flying-v-guitar
