    is it though? or is it spangles nostalgia? if we came up with that for the first time today, I suspect there would be a lot of people saying 'how much have we paid someone to come up with that'. I do love that admiral badge though. iconic.

    Putting my artistic head on (actually, scrub that, I haven't got one) I can imagine the person who designed the Shaws Carpet stars shirt being inspired by squinting their eyes and staring at the collar on Clarke's shirt above. :)

    Am inclined to agree, but maybe the BFC in that font on the socks would look the part on todays kit.

    don't get me wrong mate, I love the shirt, the image, the throwback. I just think the logo is like summat my 7 year old would scribble on a piece o paper :)

    Sod the kit, although back then it was better than a lot out there, it's what went with it as Old Goat said. Bumper gates suddenly; buzz of excitement pre season was unprecedented in my eye, and the football improved no end! Then there was the atmosphere with large away followings, and a surge up two divisions, followed by a close push to the top flight. Not to mention a fantastic run in the League Cup..... ooooh I'm rambling now!:rolleyes:
