Wouldn't have happened, the 'style' wasnt liked by the owners. Not sure what they think of this current style however.
Our only comfort from been completely outplayed and fought and hammered at Fulham is our ex boss who gave us the best season in 20 years losing.... abit sad really.
Don't care about ismael anymore but the biggest thing we need to address is the effort these players are now giving each game compared to last year. They need a kick up the arse, bet poya is already looking at going back to Sweden u21s
He ruined us by taking so many there with him. It would have been hard for any club to lose so many staff to one particular club so quickly.
He wants to get them in on Monday and ask them point blank who WANTS to play and who has got the bottle to do it. Too many seem to be living on think they turn out for a kick about and then wilt at the slightest pressure. I’d also try to find an inspirational captain not one who just drifts through games falling over and moaning.Trouble is I’m not sure who he could actually turn to!
Agree with all of that, apart from 1 thing .... They should be straight in on Sunday morning. Why wait till Monday? Waste another day. Give the players a rest? Well talk about tactics and formations then. Get some ideas across. We've got a game on Wednesday, the clock is ticking.....
From a purely footballing point of view, he should never have taken that job. They sacked Moore when they were in 4th. Pulis was sacked because they didn’t like the style of play. So he was always taking a gamble. Whereas at Barnsley, everything was setup for him. He had the staff and the players that could play to his style. There’s every chance Mowatt would’ve stayed as well. He could’ve had us mid table without affecting his reputation really. Sadly, the domino effect that his departure was allowed to have means were pretty much doomed to relegation.
Imho we know players / coaches are going to leave (as we always do) our problem is how we go about replacing them. Our suits were sleeping in the summer when everyone left and then continued to leave as the season progressed. Good luck to eveyone including big val. Its no fault of anyone but our glorious leaders.
Just browsing their forums. Pressure is now really stacking on him from the fans. Familiar comments. ‘Playing style has been found out’, ‘no plan b’, ‘not enough shots on target’, ‘too predictable’ etc. If they slip out of the top 6 I can’t imagine he’ll last the season
Not surprising. There would’ve been pressure on him if they were 6 points behind second regardless of his preferred playing style. But the playing style will just increase it.
Or could it be those staff that left decided that conways way forward for our club didn't match their direction ...ideas or aspirations....plus I guess out of professional conduct they have kept strum about all the problems we are once again seeing off the field of play that they no doubt faced every day whilst at Oakwell sorry Grove street as they prefer to say.........I can't blame them let alone Val..for leaving
