Effectively money I, you and the rest of the fan base have put into the club. has it been explained yet ?
Not sure it ever will be explained by the club, it's just another thing that they hope we'll just stop asking about. And they're not wrong, eventually no one will care about £750k as we'll all be pissing and whining about another instance of spectacular shitfuckery the board will have engaged in.
Nah they can get fècked. Until it is answered to a satisfactory standard and if needed the three quarters of a million quid returned to the club's accounts they won't get a penny from me. They'd better sort it out before season ticket time or I think they will be in for a huge shock as there's quite a few people now who will spread the message far and wide over and over about how every penny of that season ticket money goes into the 80% mobs pockets not the club.
The thread "Dear Khaled" will be bumped until either the question is answered or the money is paid back. They have until May, because as things stand I have 750,000 reasons not to renew my season ticket.
Id be more worried about the 5 million(plus this 750,000) at stake in the court case. according to the accounts 3 million in dispute ,the accounts are a year behind so make that 4 million plus the payment for next year to round it up the 5 For what its worth which is nothing i don't believe they even have 5.75 million as individuals or a group to pay that money That is irrelevant anyways as they have no intention of paying it .....out of there own pockets The investors will have been pitched and bought into the fund based on the plan to pay for of the club using club funds ala OCG Nice etc according to the crynes 4 years of payment evasion which started well before the ground dispute smokescreen ?. tried for 16 months to get in touch with them with Mr Conway telling him the now famous saying nothing to do with me get in touch with BFC Singapore or whatever it is called. In reality when the Crynes sent those those emails they would have been forwarded straight to him before he even heard the click on the keyboard If it was announced the Crynes had won the court case tomorrow the consortium would owe 4.75 million plus i presume interest on back owed money. what happens next The club immediately put up for sale (if it isn't already up for sale)or even put into administration ,where they would sell the club to pay the Crynes there money owed If the consortium wins and are allowed to pay the money out of the club funds that money still has to be paid to the Crynes. according to the people who have looked through the accounts there's virtually no money left to pay anybody So the only other means of raising money would be player sales to get that money . that being said they said nobody wanted to buy our players at the end of last season and i am presuming they haven't actually sent other teams scouts foaming at the mouth and running to get there chequebooks with there performance's on the field this season.
As things stand they're very close to having a complaint lodged with trading standards regarding the false advertising of my season ticket. It really is in the club's interests not to piss off customers right now. Sadly they're too thick to realise it
If, by some miracle, the team ends the season well most folk won't care. In fact, unless fans read the fan forums or they regularly do a deep dive into the club's accounts they won't even know about the £750k. I work with 4 season ticket holders and not one of them have any knowledge of the missing money. Unfortunately the number of people talking about it is such a small percentage of the fanbase, even the media have barely mentioned it, and those that have haven't really pressed the club on it.
In my experience fans talk to each other at the ground. People may not be aware of it at the start but as word gets round they certainly would be. I'd happily join with others to hand out flyers outside the ground at the time that renewals come out.
And you'd have something written down to prove that legally that was the agreed case right? Presumably you'd produce that for people to see evidence you aren't lying again
It breaks my fu¢king heart, all this. Seriously upsetting to see what these pricks are doing to my club and to the long-serving supporters, esp. the West Stand nomads. To watch Oakwell be effectively left to rot is simply disgraceful. Retirement allowed me to have a season ticket for the first time in almost 40 years, and I've loved catching up with old friends, making new ones around me in the Ponty, even though the product on the pitch has, on the whole, been beyond awful. I fully expected a difficult season for the team; mid-table with a fair wind, but never anticipated these charlatans to undertake such a concerted effort to send the club under. I'd renew in a heartbeat; be it in the championship, league 1 or even as a phoenix club somewhere down the pyramid, but absolutely NOT while these owners continue this way.
I can honestly say that this season has been the most unenjoyable season in the last quarter of a century for me. Not because of the performances on the pitch as we've certainly had worse but because of the whole experience. Going to oakwell isn't an experience I enjoy anymore. It feels tired, boring, soulless, unfriendly. It feels like an uncaring business that just happens to have a football pitch within it. I wake up on a Saturday and don't have any excitement about going to the game at all. The people who used to sit around me have all chalked fèck on it. The scoreboards knackered, west stand is derelict, Toby might as well be retired, pre match music is worse and worse and either too quiet or too loud, there's no engagement from the announcer, no connection between the club and the fans whatsoever, even the media output has got drastically worse this season. Huge backwards step in out matchday recap etc. Its a chore and it shouldn't be.
No not if it wasn’t written down , but that’s why it’s gone to court so they can decide who pays promotion bonuses if that’s what it is , it might be complicated if the other party involved accepted the money
You'd hope so, but my experience is that most fans don't care what's happening behind the scenes, as long as the club isn't in jeopardy. Sadly, I think you're overestimating how much the average fan knows or cares about non-footballing matters.
I'm really at a loss with this issue! If I buy a business, lets say a shop or pub, I make the initial deposit and then make future payments from the business account not my personal account. I use profit generated from sales, some of which may be of stock bought along with the business. The locals in the pub don't complain about where the money is coming from to pay the mortgage/loan. Can somebody, without resorting to abuse, please expain.
Apart from anything else Paul Conway claimed that they wouldn't take a penny out of the club. It's my personal belief that taking money from the club profits in order to settle a personal debt IS taking money from the club
