Random one but has anyone had symptoms months later that involve a burning / metal taste? Both me and my youngest had Covid in the Summer. Fully recovered now, hopefully. At the time we had loss of taste and smell which recovered, but we both randomly have this weird burning / metal taste now (having previously returned to normal).
Not had a taste or smell problem. Had issues with my sinus but that's all rugby related. Covid left me with seasonal / damp condition asthma. It's nailed my cardo resilience and I've got a constant dry and crokey voice. Can't do a Bee Gees impression anymore. Damp weather also makes me very tired and limits my walking ability. Sunny day I'll yomp for miles up hill, down dale. On a crap day I'm lucky to walk a mile on the flat. Thankfully my role now is a management role, couldn't do the heavy lifting on the front line anymore.
Are you sure Mr fired isn't trying to do you in with arsenic because he can't handle being in a lower division than you?
I don't think he cares that much tbh. In fact, if he had much of an interest, I'd wager he'd be enjoying this season more than me.
I read an article the other day re ‘long Covid’ that stopped me in my tracks. We need to get our head round the fact that long Covid isn’t a post Covid ‘side effect’, but it is the disease that’s carried by the virus.
I lost my taste and smell with Covid Last November/December, neither have returned fully. I struggle with Anything that isn’t strong smelling or strong tasting. I’m convinced that some of the time I’m tasting things from memory rather than actually tasting them. As for strange smells, deodorants, perfumes etc just smell of what I can only describe as a spicy smell. Physically, I’m nowhere near the levels of fitness as I was pre- Covid.
I haven't experienced it but I remember an interview on radio 5 some time earlier this year where that was discussed as a symptom both during and after covid infections.
Tested positive 15th Sept... told all clear to mingle from the 25th.....got off light... compared to some that have had it...that said I just felt like I'd got a heavy head cold...mild head ache no cough .but ached like buggery across bottom of my ribs......I normally have problems sleeping but was regularly sleeping between 12 to 18hrs believe it or not...the wife on the other hand couldn't for the life of her drop in to a deep sleep...she'd close her eyes have 5minutes and feel like she'd been to sleep ages...both of us felt fatigued ...the wife throughout was worst than me the strong head aches causing her tremendous pain plus the cough with developed leaving her short of breath On the 24th feeling a little better ... I decided to make some home made soup for lunch ...whilst cooking it it both tasted and smelt delicious ...I put the soup in a bowl then as if someone had flicked a switch we both lost our sense of smell and taste before we could eat it.. we couldn't taste or smell a thing for 3 days...here we are on the night of the 11th of October and i've still not got neither my taste buds or sense of smell back fully Yes i keep getting a strange metallic taste.. eyes sting like buggery and are constantly running face and parts of body feel like I've got the after effects of sun burn And I Soon become exhausted easily (whilst I did loose my appetite and dropped 10lbs in 12 days I find now I'm eating like a pig always feeling hungry) Wife says she now feels fine but I feel cold majority of the time and feel really lethargic ...strange todays coming out day I'm led to believe As its the first time ive been through the door since the 26th. I'm still self isolating again as I can't seem to shake it off...we will see how this raw vegan diet works over the next few days xx...stay safe folk
I lost taste and smell for two weeks, but it came back. This latest thing is out of the blue. Feels like I’ve burnt the inside of my mouth. I also had huge difficulty sleeping for several weeks. Kept nodding off, just to wake up in a panic that I couldn’t breathe. Totally involuntary and quite frightening. Many nights until the early hours.
Mother has Bells Palsy, this post July Covid infection, she still has no taste or smell. Doctors tell her they are seeing lots of Bells Palsy post COVID-19. The gift that keeps giving.
Strange you should say that...because what I forgot to say is that I got a bottom lip full of blisters ( yes Trev if you are reading this the size of my mouth there were plenty lol) which I put down to cold sores ( not had them since my late teens) and the inside of my mouth/gums felt like it/they were on fire...admittedly the inside of my mouth as eased but I've still got the after effects of the blisters on my lips.... I also broke out in patches of small spots on my back that itched like hell and were very painful if I took the top off them whilst itching them...(soild core ) ..thankfully they've cleared up At first the wife thought they were shingles but on closer inspection no blister to be seen and it was patches rather than a continuous rash common with shingles
It's not pleasant i can tell you and I reckon I've had only a mild case compared to some and how bad the wife was with it
7 year old in our house has been diagnosed with Covid and he's bright as a bobbin , barring the odd come down. I've been on with that bug that seems to be sweeping the nation of late; feel proper fatigued and I've a voice like Sean Dyche for the past four days! It's a **** to shift, that's for sure
I’ve not had it but a friend did and lost his taste for about a month, it came back and now it’s gone again, weird. Hope it’s ok soon for you.
I can taste a little bit, but I haven’t smelled a thing since April/May 2020 when I had COVID. Dog could curl one out next to me in bed and I’d be completely unaware
I can’t imagine how you are all coping with a lack of taste and smell. When it’s happened to me for a day or two years ago during a bad cold I absolutely hated it. Eating was such a struggle.
