But am actually more downbeat at our prospects
Since the first half at QPR we have been in steady decline
In the last 5 games we have scored 2 goals - one a wonderstrike of a free kick and one a penalty
We havent really looked like scoring from open play - the only save of note I have seen was the one from Victor a couple of games ago. But for Collins we would have no points from the last 5

The defence that was so solid last season looks lost
The strike force has no cutting edge and we get overrun in midfield

I know people are saying we lost key players but that doesnt bear up to scrutiny
Both Struber and Ishmael (for the first half season) had no Dike or Morris either but still produced top half levels of points return

Yes we lost Mowatt - though quite a few of our fans seemed to not rate him it is a significant loss and we have lost Mads and Solbauer - though sol was only a bit player second half of last season under Valarian and we have now Kitching who I am sure under either of our previous coaches would be OK

We have Gomes - who when I have seen him play looks decent and Iseka who seems to be improving but neither get much game time.

This is all a long winded way of saying even with the current injuries and departures I think both Stuber and Val would have us comfortably mid table at worst

Of more concern is the effects on our younger players - only Collins seems to be not going backwards
Players like Brittain who were world beaters last season look poor this, even Helik isnt the same player
Gomes who is on loan from Manchester City barely gets a kick despite looking quite decent when he plays - we will struggle to get more loanees if this is how they are treated though

I could go on but in summary it seems to me that Schopp is out of his depth and the fact we are going backwards at an increasing rate makes me very worried

I never thought I would be asking for a manager to be sacked after so few games but I just don't see him turning things round. I think after 3 good appointments as manager it was always likely we would get one wrong and this looks to be the case here.
I think he has to go - sooner rather than later/

Id normally want us to have a replacement lined up first but this time its hard to see a caretaker doing a worse job whilst we find a successor.

Id love him to prove me wrong on Saturday and us come out and steamroller Millwall but I will be really surprised if that happens

    Time to go Mr Schopp

What annoys me is the constant tinkering. It's like having a **** Ranieri. No consistency.

Don’t underestimate the impact of the other departures and injuries.

Sollbauer, although no longer a guaranteed starter, had an enormous steadying influence when he joined. The team is missing his leadership skills, and he would definitely get a game ahead of Halme and Moon.

The loss of both Morris and Dike have rendered our attack toothless. We are missing Conor Chaplin’s energy and tenacity, and even Patrick Schmidt would offer more goal threat than Adeboyejo and Oduor.

Kitching had his suspension, Benson and Palmer have missed games, and the departure of Kane means virtually no continuity in midfield from last season. Any hope that it would all improve when the Belgians finally became available is rapidly draining away.

I honestly think any manager would have struggled under these circumstances, but Schopp does seem to be doing a particularly poor job of it. But are we really any worse than in Championship under Stendel, or the beginning of last season under Struber? Unfortunately, perennial strugglers seems to be our natural level.

Last season apart we do seem destined to struggle year after year at this level. The club philosophy is doing us no favours at all, we’ve certainly very few saleable assets right now anyway.
Just look at a club like Luton, with probably less resources than us. Got a great coach, recruit well and have made an effortless transition into an established Championship club.

Good post agree 100% the most worrying is in the last 450 minutes of football we have scored 2 goals 1 a pen and a wonder strike free kick so in effect none from open play and never looked like scoring one.

    Summed up yesterday.

Benson pulls up injured. Straight swap for Gomes you’d think. No, we will shift Styles into CM and bring a right back into left back.

No wonder Styles has been poor this season he doesn’t know whether he’s coming or going.

Asif he didn't realise at Broomfield Road styles had a mare in center midfield but oh no give him another go. Moon over sibbick is another confusing one. And I cant watch odour in a front 3 anymore its painful.

Agree with the OP, maybe not mid table at worst, but Struber and Ismael would undoubtedly have done better than this.

We got 6 points from the first 5 games. Then 2 from the next 5. The more input he has into the team, the worse we get.

Another question, a player goes down why no under 23s in attendance to fill the bench?

I'm not sure, but I seem to remember that once the teamsheets have been handed in no further players can be added if one gets injured in the warm up.

I'm not sure, but maybe it was too late. If the team sheet has been handed in, maybe changes can't be made after that. Just an assumption.

What gets me most is the (mis)use of Gomes and Iseka. As the OP stated, both seem to look good, when given a chance, but rarely get a start or a full game. Surely, they can only improve on an already bright showing with a run in the team.

I think Oduor has something to offer, but not as one of three in the front line.
