I went to my first one on Saturday night - Wolf Alice at a tiny venue in Stoke. Forgot how amazing live music actually is. Didn't realise how much I'd missed it. It really is sad, whatever your views on lockdown, how much we've asked young people (and us old ********) to miss out on for so long.
Been to a few. Done a couple of festivals and went to a gig yesterday at White Hotel in Salford. Great to be back
Not been to see anyone since Swans & Little Annie at the plug about 3 years back. Damn, they were LOUD!!
Had two days of The Cribs back to back. Album launch at the Brudenell and an intimate crowd. Then Piece Hall. Both incredible. Both long overdue. Biggest challenge is getting your circle of friends back int o the habit of getting tickets for gigs, seeing announcements, etc. Long road back to normality but slowly getting there.
yep, first one for years,The Reytons, 02 Sheffield, went on balcony thankfully, absolute mayhem on the dance floor, one big mosh pit, the humidity from the sweat was overpowering, Really enjoyed it, but I do like heavy, loud, guitar led rock. Last time I was at the 02 was to watch Exit Calm, still miss them, good band and lovely lads as well.
Went to some Ibiza Classics thing a few weeks back at Castle Howard which was decent enough, but indoor wise don't have anything til Mystery Jets in April. Would've liked to have gone to see Biffy but sold out now
Have you got the Twickets app? Reckon you'll find some on there and can set up an alert. Face value resale.
Ive got quite a few lined up for next year, rearranged gigs otherwise Ive seen a few folky/blues bands at The Calder Vale Hotel (Luddite Brewery) outside on a Sunday afternoon . They are opening their inside concert room next week I think .
Might have a look and see what's available. Missus is clinically vulnerable/pregnant though so bearing that in mind at the mo too.
Yep, been to 5 with the highlight being New Order at the Piece Hall, have another 20/25 or so booked. Missed it more than anything else over lockdown.
Off to see Yard Act at Headrow House and also Los Campesinos in the next few months, can’t bloody wait.
I went to Cribs. Was at Tramlines and saw Idles in Leeds earlier this month. And a few local bands in Barnsley (White Bear, OSH). We've gigged twice since restrictions were lifted........I think the audience were still social distancing.
