This poll confuses me a little. Roughly 3 in 5 want him gone now and 1 in 5 want him gone if he doesn't improve by Christmas. That makes complete sense to me, some don't think he's good enough and won't be so want to make a change now, some don't think he looks good enough but are willing to give him a few months to improve. Fair enough. But then 1 in 5 simply say no they don't want him to leave. Does that mean that even if we are this had at Christmas they want him to stay? If not surely they'd have chose the Christmas option? Anyone who ticked that box able to explain what made them tick that instead of the Christmas one?
For me Archey it's that he, similarly, had the heart of a pea. Instead of fielding a team to win and breed confidence he ran away from it. Unfortunately he's not alone in that approach to cup competitions thes days.
Well said. I’ve heard stories from yesterday about fans arguing with each other & turning on the team. They’re embarrassing. Seasons barely started & we’ve had & have a depleted squad. Puts me off watching us
If the bloke carries on blindly with his same tactics with same results I think it’s pretty clear he actually wants the sack and his pay off. He has zero connection with the players or fans. Very strange character indeed.
To be honest, after sleeping on it.. I still want him out. Tactically inept. Absolutely shocking appointment.
It's not necessarily the games without a win its the clueless powderpuff football that is constantly turned out with absolutely no sign of winning
Hardly second team and it's the ah well we'll win next week mentality that's seen us slide down the league and out of the cup, for me every game is relevant because wins breed confidence.
He’s done & said very little to impress me, but then, Val’s a hard act to follow. Judge him when he has the full tool box.
Almost 60% of people want a manager sacked after 9 games when we have had multiple key players out for every game. That's ******* insanity.
A lot of managers don't habe a connection with the fans though do they, particularly coming to a new country in Covid times. As to the players, given that training etc is behind closed doors how do we know he has no connection?
His demeanour on the touchline doesn’t show much of a connection and the players’ body language would suggest the same. Maybe I’m wrong but if the players have a connection to him then maybe they ought to show with a bit more commitment in games. Performances like yesterday are ones that you tend to get when a coach is losing the faith of his players. Hope I’m wrong, I really do.
Not so insane when we seem to be getting worse rather than improving. He had plenty of options yesterday to allow for a better performance than we saw. If he’s going to persist with 3-4-3 along with the same deep lying playing style, then he’ll be lucky to survive beyond the next international break.
After the next match he'll have had 10 games (11 with Bolton) to instill his methodology onto a group of players which, even with absentees are not crap. It's long enough for the group to show elements of skill, tenacity, invention and spirit but so far the players have been woefully lacking and don't seem to be improving. That has got to be down to the manager. He carries the can at the end of the day and by now there should be some green shoots. There are very few. So, although it sounds harsh he should go with the proviso that there is someone else available or in the pipeline to replace him. I'll eat humble pie if he stays and they start looking terrific in the next few games but I'm not holding my breath. Schopp is a flop.
