Here's a bit of a mystery from Saturday's game. I was sat with my lad in the East Stand Upper Tier at half time and the usual announcements are coming through, 50/50 draw and the like, and suddenly I hear it being announced that someone in the East Stand Upper Tier has won a prize. The announcement then seemed to state my son's row and seat number, and that he'd won a signed Dom Freiser shirt, and that winners would be contacted on Monday.

I was wondering if I'd heard this correctly because, as we all know, it's not the best PA system. What made me think that I'd heard correctly was that someone on the row in front of me said "well done" to my son and a bloke who I don't know, on returning from the concourse, said unprompted to my son "you've just won Freiser's shirt lad, I just heard it downstairs!"

I hadn't heard anything by this lunchtime so I've just given BFC a call and there's no record of my son having won the shirt, it apparently has been claimed by someone else. Further to this, he hasn't won any prize at all. Now I would think that I'd just misheard the announcement at the time, and that was that, but with two other people independently apparently hearing the same I'm left a bit puzzled.

We could all be wrong of course and may all the able to blame the state of the PA system, but does anyone have any recollection of that announcement on Saturday? Long shot I know.

I'd suggest contacting the club stating the seat number etc. and explaining you thought you'd heard it announced you'd won a prize.

This forum is good for getting answers on a range of subjects, reckon the club are more likely to know than username X.

Yes, I've already done this, and quoted his exact seat number in the phone call, but there's no prize listed against his seat, Mini Metro, Freiser shirt, match day programme or otherwise. We must all be losing it in the East Stand Upper!

Wasn't it in the press the other day that Freiser had said to the Barnsley fan who took his son to Wembley and was sat where Dom was that he wanted to give him his match worn shirt so wanted to know where the fan sat at Oakwell so it would get to him?

I remember when I was nine years old. It was the Pontefract Labour Club kids Christmas Party in big room. All the kids were dancing to win prizes. I'm boogieing away busting out my best moves. The committee man on stage points to me. I go up for my Football and he's pointing to my mate behind me. I wanted ground to open up. I was gutted.

I thought they’d won a freezer ……my son thought he’d won the signed Palmer programme but hasn’t heard back from the marketing team so he probably hasn’t

One of those blokes you mentioned was me. It was definitely your lads seat. No idea what the prize was - heard mention of Friezer but that was it. Very odd.....

It was definitely a signed copy of the programme by Frieser. No mention of a match worn shirt
    Prizes were

    £10 club shop voucher
    Signed shirt by squad
    Signed Programme by Frieser
