I see your point, but I, having no interest in the job shouldn't know what my mate who may apply and get the job, is earning.

Wouldn't you put salary in the range of though? I wouldn't apply for a job without knowing the wage, although if I was guessing I don't think an assistant groundsperson would be on very much.

Jobs I go for don't advertise the salary but I know from working in the industry how much I'm worth and how much a position is likely to pay.

I would never apply for a job that didn’t give any indication of the pay.

Nice bit of zonal marking by your birdbath. If you get the job, you could put one of those on our back post. Should help us with defending set pieces.

I know exactly where you're coming from, and I would put it on the agencies adverts, just not on the news pages of the companies main site. I might just be being a bit fussy, as wages were kept a lot quieter back when I was younger.

Most positions don’t quote salaries online tbf. Quite normal.

If you’re in the industry, then you’ll know what’s good and what ain’t when that’s disclosed on interview.

It works both ways, because if I saw a job that paid less than I wanted, I wouldn't apply.
Without advertising a salary, I can go into an interview, give it my best shot and tell them what my required remuneration is. They may think I'm so good they pay me more than they were initially thinking.

but a lot of time and effort preparing for an interview to be told it's nmw if you were expecting higher!

It would deflate wages though if no one ever advertised them. By seeing what other companies pay for Will’s job he has moved once and asked for (and got) an increase another time. The only reason he did that was because he happened upon job adverts that were advertising more than he was getting. How else do you know what you are ‘worth’ if you never know what a single other person is making in your field?
