Am I missing something here? People saying this is a class signing, he is 33, managed 19 appearances last season due to various injury issues and scored 1 goal that wasn't a penalty. Yes penalties still need to be scored but to me this is nothing more than a nostalgia signing as he is a fan of that club. I wouldn't swap him for any of our striker options. A 33 year old at the end of his career with recent injury issues on a fairly decent wage probably too. No thanks, rubbish.

Not even Victor? I think Deeney will fit in well at Birmingham, with their style of play.

No, I don't rate Victor particularly well but he is a lot younger, scored more from open play last season from less starts, much smaller wage (Brum fans seem to think they are paying Deeney 10k a week with Watford making up the rest) and has more pace etc. than Deeney to allow him to press.

He might suit their style better than he would ours, but they already have big Juke who again I would rather have over Deeney. Aside from him being a fan of Birmingham, I think its a poor move. Now I have said this though he will probably smash in loads............

Ok .. lets just sit back and see who as the better season.. Birmingham signing old codgers at 33 at a cost. Or us who go for yoof at a way cheaper cost.

I don't think it's possible for two clubs/groups to pay a players wages after a permanent move.

Our plan worked fine for us last season as we finished miles above them last year.

Also, their best player this season has been some 'yoof' on loan from Man U who is 21. They also had a good yoof they played from their academy that now plays for Dortmund. These young players help build clubs up and make money, signing these old has beens on good money is pointless IMO.
