2nd half, West Brom were more like us last year. League winners. 1st half bang average. I watched the game with a blunt. They are relegation fodder.
We had over 70% possession last night according to pelly. The majority in our own half but still.....
Perception is a funny thing but how anyone can compare our performance on Tuesday to Sheffield Uniteds on Wednesday is completely bonkers. Finishing and final ball on Tuesday was all that was missing. We dominated the game and really should have at least got a point. The blunts could have and should have lost by more than the 4 they conceded. They were absolutely atrocious. It was embarrassing.
I wish we were playing the Blunts on Saturday. With the players they have they shouldnt be that bad - by the time we play them at the end of October they must have got their act together - or we will be playing against a new manager bounce. Argee with @Terry Nutkins you cant compare our performance with that display of ineptitude
Reminds me of an old joke what do Man United and the Black Eyed peas have in common ... Both were sh*t then Fergie came and they were good then Fergie left and they were sh*t again
Time to move on. Val was excellent for us, but it is rare that he stays much longer than a year in any one job, so it was inevitable that he would go. Once he went, the style was always going to change, because not many play the chaos theory that he does. He's had a good start, but at some point they will go on a run where they don't win for two or three games. Or find themselves outside the top two. Then we'll see how the club and fans react. If he's still there next season, we'll see how sustainable his style is long term. For us, we look like we're trying to play a far more patient game, waiting for a team to lose their shape before pouncing. We did it against Cardiff (actually, twice but for the flag) and Coventry. Luton were just too disciplined, and good last ditch defending meant they stopped Odour on the turn and anybody getting to the rebound after Brittain's shot. We had some hesitancy at times (Palmer and Adeboyejo getting in behind and taking too many touches), but hopefully that will improve. On another day we get one or two ourselves.
