Looked to me like certainly before and probley after Coventry came with a decent following alot of intoxicated followers looking to act up and look for trouble and got it.
I really have to say that the way our games are being policed and the access/egress to the ground/parking/segregation etc is absolutely bonkers. Put the bridge issue to one side. Not allowed through train station (actually why?) Re-directed through Eldon street, not closed before game, fans walking into oncoming buses, cops all parked up at Beevor court, absolute garbage. Can't turn right out of ground to go down harbro hiills but have to try and feed into harbro hills going wrong way into 40 mph traffic. Who the hell is thinking all this up. That said. Coventry have a reputation for young d!ckheads causing trouble if they can. Wannabees who get battered, as I suspected happened here, saw some acting the goat outside west stand, bumped into a barnsley fan who threatened to lay them all out, then remembered the 20 cops watching and doing nowt
For me, there was clearly a reduced level of police at the game and around the streets on Saturday. Usual places where the cops would be, there were none. I can only presume they were struggling for numbers due to Weds V Donc having the same kick-off time. And perhaps that explains various rumours about tickets etc.
For what? Looked like Coventry fans goading barnsley fans from behind police lines and a barnsley fan has got through and swung a punch and got locked up. Not sure how anyone else from that video warrants a ban.
Historically we've always been away when Wednesday (& Rotherham) are at home and vice versa but so far this season we've aligned with Wednesday and opposite to Rotherham.
Any type of football violence is pathetic. But the minority from the coventry lot came here for trouble and wasn't let down. Saying that I've seen divs from our lot start trouble plenty of times All clubs have them, just have a beer. Have a sing song and enjoy the match
Not only are they an embarrassing, but to do it in front of pensioners, women and kids is totally out of order. Mate sent me this, of mario and milk bottle… they want banning.
I agree with what jordy m93 says a minority of cov fans came looking to act up and cause bother and wasn't let down by our lot. Witnessed it my self before kick off young cov fans walking past west stand shouting abuse then it turned confrontational between our fans.
So apart from anything else am I right in thinking that our genius safety group/police/club between them decided that the safest way to police the game was to close off the only entry to the ground for home fans that is completely separate to away fans and then bring the away fans directly through the home fans?
