That’s my route in on foot too, it’s quite a long additional walk going all way along ponty rd and through the south stand car park just get to the east stand.

Not sure why they can’t let people walk in and out that way.

It also means car parking is going to be an absolute nightmare if they’re not letting people pay on the day there. Ponty rd near the speed camera and the riding school will be rammed.

And emergency rendezvous point? Ok if they think they need one (or at least a different one) - but to sacrifice a perfectly viable alternative entrance and exit, meaning all supporters whether on foot or by car are either walking up into town or through the car park? All bottle necking to get the same way? It’s absolutely barmy.

Against all the odds they have taken a bad situation and made it worse.

So where is the Beevor Court going to be blocked off ? At the gate past the office blocks or at the top on Pontefract Road ?
If it's the gate then there's the option to walk left up through the trees and through the gap in the fence, unless that gap has been repaired.
This is going to cause great hilarity on Saturday, more so for cars.
And then to suspend pay on the day for parking in the car park, if I have read it right. Will that mean cars are turned round on Grove Street to find somewhere else to park? What about the Coventry fans ?

Sounds like chaos to ensue. There will be plenty who turn up at the Pontefract Road end car park and haven't seen the notice. There is no way those vehicles can be turned round and sent back to the Pontefract Road. I think that the likely chaos will make it worse for the emergency services than if they had left it as usual. Surely, the only problems for emergency services access would be just before and just after the game. For the rest of the time, everyone is tucked up inside Oakwell. Can't understand the logic of this, unless there is something I have not fully grasped about the arrangement.

Pretty much exactly what I was going to type - this seems a really strange decision and I really cant understand why no pay on the day unless the car park is full

Might be a ploy to make people turn up early. Get there before 2, no problems. Get there at 2.45, miss the first half of match.
Whatever the reasoning there will be chaos. I prefer a ten minute walk having parked for free

I’m guessing they don’t want the car park attendants handling cash

And now it’s all ticket and no sales after 5pm tomorrow.

Something is a bit off here, there’s no proper explanation as to what is going on either.

Having looked around other clubs, there isn’t the same happening everywhere so why Barnsley? What is different about our club?

I’m not having a dig - I’m just really puzzled as to what is going on.

It makes no sense for this to be a one off thing which worryingly means that it's most likely a permanent move.

With the closure of the bridge, No parking cones placed much further afield than at other similar sized clubs, absolutely bonkers management of the ponty end carpark and now the closure of beever court and banning of pay on the day parking customers someone seems hell bent on making oakwell as inaccessible as possible.

We've been bought by Chansiri. It's the only thing that makes sense.

‘emergency rendezvous point’ …how are they going to get up or down a grid locked Ponte Road.

Usual way - down the middle of the road, all sirens blaring out

Or they could have coned one side of Beevor Court off to create an emergency exit and kept the traffic moving
