Really pleased that Denmark have lost the Men's Pursuit final and their world record. They were complete arses yesterday against GB in the heat. They should have been disqualified for careless riding and censured for their aggressive behaviour afterwards. Especially as Katy Marchant in the Keirin was made to race again in the repechage for a slight transgression when winning her heat.
Frightening that the two teams rode a whole 8 seconds faster than the previous olympic winning time. Incredible come back from Italy too.
Big credit to Ben Whitaker. Nothing wrong at all with people being happy with a medal of any colour. But if he's not happy with being the first or second loser that's OK too. https://metro.co.uk/2021/08/04/olym...ar-silver-medal-and-sulks-on-podium-15035088/
I think he knows he could’ve given a lot more. Don’t get me wrong if he took more risks the Cuban may have countered him & he may still have lost but he’ll be kicking himself that he didn’t leave it all in the ring. At least with Frazer Clarke he knows there’s nothing more he could have done.
Think you've nailed it there. I thought he edged the 1st, but once he saw it was 10-9 across the board, repeating the tactic for rounds 2 and 3 was never going to work.
Regretting not wearing his medal now. To get to a final and medal should be celebrated imo. https://news.sky.com/story/tokyo-ol...using-to-wear-silver-medal-on-podium-12372634
Amateurish from the BBC commentators at the track cycling not knowing the Men's Sprint quarter-finals are best of three.
