    For the next 10 years.

Glad Barnsley haven't gone down that route, imagine having to go to the Albert Hirst Pork Pie Emporium Stadium or some such like.

Now if it was named " The Percy Turner Pork Pie Stadium " I would be all for it , provided that all season ticket holders received a complimentary pie on entering the ground , it would be a sell out every match !!

It sounds awful but there are a number just as bad in the football league. When we played at Cheltenham Town in a friendly it was called "LCI RailStadium". The LCI standing for Level Crossing Installations (I think?).

You say that, but ask me again in 5 years time what their stadium is called, and I'll say the Madejski. Selling the naming rights of the stadium, in my opinion, is one of the easiest ways of getting money for old rope.

Do you know where the iPro Stadium was? A team in our division had that name for their stadium from 2013 to 2016 and I had no idea. I think I visited in that time too.

Unique though. Far rather that than bet365 or emirates.

It then became "Perfect Smile Stadium" and then "Johnny Rock Stadium".

I'm sure that if the right offer came along we would attach a sponsors name to the stadium. I think I could live with this as long as Oakwell was retained e.g. Didcot Red Oakwell Stadium.

Traditional homes, unsponsored, get no financial benefit but retain an identity. i.e Oakwell.

Traditional homes, sponsored, get financial benefit but to their hardcore the name of the ground will always be the original. Pulse Stadium? Nah ........ Valley Parade. Sport Direct Arena? St James' Park of course.

New grounds - some successfully keep the newly christened name, regardless of sponsorship. Baseball Ground seamlessly became Pride Park; Roker Park became Stadium of Light. All good for fans of that type of club, although soul-less to us visiting fans.

But the ones I struggle with are the poor fans of clubs like Hudderfield. Leeds Road, spiritual home. Not sure if the new ground was ever given a formal title (Kirklees Stadium perhaps?), just a sponsors name. And several sponsors later I could never get used to telling my lad "fancy a trip to the Macalpine / Galpharm / John Smiths this weekend". Nothing ever sticks and it all adds to the soul-less, flat experience of moving home.

    Oakwell forever!!!

It's good, but I reckon I prefer the Sailor Sid arena.

    Or Pats for Pants Park.

Great gesture, though it's still Loftus Road to us oldies, and I'm guessing to most QPR fans as well.
