    MARKUS SCHOPP POST-WEDNESDAY
    Interviews

Speaking after our 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday afternoon, Markus Schopp says there are plenty of positives to take from a productive week both on the training ground and in pre-season friendlies.

Markus has been in charge nearly three weeks. No one with a brain would expect to see the changes in playing style to be fully adopted in that time. There'll be a few teething issues, especially with numerous first team regulars missing, before we see the Head Coach's preferred style of play fully implemented.
    So far, so good.

the whole squad has to be retrained into his way of doing things so they are done automatically without a thought and as you say this takes time

Which is why, Trev, I'm not going to lose any sleep over inexperienced youngsters being outwitted and unable to stop some opportunities falling to Wednesday in yesterday's friendly. The likes of Helik, Andersen & Halme were all missing and it's possible they, too, will need time to adjust to the new style.

"We played well at times, off the ball we were good and also on the ball. In the coming weeks we have a few more friendlies where we can test ourselves against much better opposition, we always start with the **** sides to gain match fitness. I'm happy with the result, good weather here in England and we didn't let them have a shower afterwards, scruffy ********."

If Carlsberg did post match interviews, Wednesday ********.

This is going to be the crucial moment, when our more experienced players, the ones who aren't playing right now, are asked to fit into a new and different style.
The midfield seems to be adapting to the system but the missing defenders will probably still have the Big Val way in their heads. I really hope they too can clear their heads and play the "new" way.
The one player that has to be freed from the team's old system is Mowatt. He was the linchpin but now he is not !

Players who weren't regulars last season (Oduor, Simoes, Ritzmaier, even Kane to an extent) may all fancy their chances to show Markus what they're capable of and challenging Styles & Palmer for a place in midfield. That's before any potential incomings in that position are considered, too.

    New system, new players.
It doesn't mean to say that the old guard that were there last season are the ones that will start this time. If the ones who didn't play last time are going to be the cut the mustard this time then so be it. It may bring a new refreshing approach.

Which is why I'm content to show patience if league results aren't immediately positive.

I hope we hit the ground running, too. All I'm saying is that if we don't, I won't be demanding the head of Markus.

This board will be in meltdown after the first defeat. 'What is Schopp playing at?', ''***** tactics from a clueless manager', 'Tippy tappy ********' etc etc......

I can see there will be changes.

Interesting to see how well Kitching played & Oduor in that forward left position.

These are two players I'd like to feature more from what I've I've seen.

The two Williams brothers deserve their chance.

    They'll only be saying tippy-tappy ******** if said tippy-tappy ******** is a direct reason for a defeat..
The only reason lm not a fan is because in the past its proved our downfall rather than been productive. We'll see

Not sure the style will be alien to our lads. We proved how good we are on the ball against Bournemouth. Such as Styles, Helik and Mads will fit straight in. Bar a couple of tweaks. I think we’ll adapt well .
