Apart from trips to the Albert Dock with school (bizarrely we drove straight there and back), and away days to Anfield, Goodison and Prenton Park (does that count?), I'd never actually experienced the city until this week. What a great place! Great heritage obviously, but the architecture was great, it's very clean and laidback, and lovely on the waterfront. Might move there one day. Also, fantastic pizzas on Bold Street (The Italian Club), as good as any pizza I've had in Italy! Somewhat the opposite of what I was expecting
It is a lovely city, dead easy to drive to as well. Each time I visit my daughter we visit a different place/museum.
Was easy to drive to Helen, I thought the same. Even from Bristol, and driving into the city and parking up on the Waterfront. We stayed on Bold Street, which was perfect for getting around and right in the middle of everything. Only got to go to the Tate museum, so next time we have a list of others we want to check out. Great record/vintage shops too!
Have to agree. It's a great city with a fantastic vibe! Last time I was there some young Scousers overheard the woman I was with wishing me a happy birthday. A few minutes later a brandy was winging it's way over... They repeated this in three other bars when we bumped into them throughout the night. Cracking restaurants and pubs; superb history, and just over an hour away. Strangely enough in my lifetime; we've played at Anfield on three occasions and never lost (winning two lol).
Yep, doesn't surprise me! Great people and couldn't believe how laidback it was. Will be going back again before long
