What's the best birthday (or Christmas I suppose) gift you've given or received? Yes, I am fishing for ideas.
I need ideas for a 21 year old niece. I sent an engraved bottle of vintage Dom, but I'm looking for some jewelry ideas.
Well it's my partners 30th. But I was just generally curious what others had received for special birthdays too. My plan A has been scuppered by both a pandemic and money.
Acoustic guitar, a 21st birthday present from my parents. Black and Decker drill, from my mother-in-law. 30 years old and still gets used regularly. The drill, not my mother-in-law. More recently, the 3 CD box set "I'm A Freak, Baby - A Journey Through The Heavy Psych and Hard Rock Underground Scene 1968-1972". Absolutely magnificent collection of songs, excellent from start to finish. Can't recommend it highly enough (it's so good that my son bought me volume 2 for Father's Day).
Once bought our lass a pet rat for her birthday....the year before I got her 2 remould tyres for her Mini
I wanted a Lambretta (SX200) for my 50th, needless to say I didn’t get one Determined to get one at some point Got a Tag Heuer watch and private reg plates off my parents for my 40th though.
A portrait of the dog by me always scores a ton of brownie points. & you can enjoy it too. Everybody’s a winner.!
A trip to Disneyland Paris, my iPhone (my first ever smartphone so was quite exciting), a laptop as my old one’s screen kept flickering, a necklace with a heart that I never take off, a steering wheel cover as I have Reynaud’s and steering wheels are always either too cold or too hot, the time when I asked everyone to add a box of maltesers to whatever present they were getting me and I ended up with a ton of them in different sized boxes/tubs and in different formats (e.g. teasers etc.) … Oh and a pram when I was little and I cried with happiness but that one might worry your girlfriend a bit.
For my brother's 65th (I think), I bought him a couple of books containing news articles from his year of birth. One book contained articles for his birth year, and the other for his actual birth day.
I once bought the ex wife a lovely chair but she wouldn't plug it in.....my mate bought his wife a jaguar..first time she took it out ....it bit her head off..... Taxi....for the comic the old ones are always the best....not in this case lol Seriously .....if she's into tattoos pay for one for her
For me you're either a good gift getter or not. And I fall into the latter category so probably won't be much help!
Lucy O’Connell is one of the best tattooists I’ve ever known, based in Leeds, a morning with her would be the ultimate present!
