So now we have a green list, a green watch list, amber and red.

They don't like simple do they. Why not green and red. U either can go or u can't. No faffing. Simple.

 

Isnt up to the country you wish to visit to determine whether you can or cannot travel there?

 

Yes
And our rules are about ‘returning from’ other countries.
But as we see things from ‘our’ point of view, we tend to miss that point.

For instance, as I’m double jabbed I can visit some Greek islands simply by filling in a form to tell them where I’m going and I promise to let them know if my condition changes.

But as they’re currently Amber list, I need a rapid flow test before I return and 2 PCR tests once landed (10 days isolation whilst results are known).

If the rumoured changes go ahead, I’ll not have to isolate on returning because I’m double jabbed, but others may have to… vaccine apartheid

Edit: And that could all be undone as there’s calls within the EU to make all British nationals self isolate when travelling to the EU due to the Delta variant.

I've been following the developments in the Channel Islands closely - I might have to start travelling back to Guernsey for work in the near future...

On Wednesday 30th, as an inhabitant of Yorkshire (in their "Category 4"), I'd have to self-isolate and have a test (@£25 each) on the 1st and 13th day before I could leave isolation
On Thursday 1st, as someone that has been fully vaccinated, I can just waltz through the airport and not have to be tested or isolate.

It seems governments everywhere aren't making sensible, logical decisions...

 

Looks like the Caribbean is back on the menu......Yaaaay
