kinda fallen out of love with our test match team, NZ battered us twice on home soil which shouldn't happen, god help us in the ashes, feckin aussies will be pissed on tooheys all dec/jan laughing at us
I think the loss of our key players (4) to England. Will put paid to a top 4 place. Hope I'm wrong. For those not aware. Every yorkshire game has been live on you tube. If anyone bothered.
It was a bit of a mixed bag from our England contingent tonight. JB played better than I have ever seen him play before. Sublime striking of the ball, minimum effort required. Malan barely troubled the scorers - a rare off day for him. Rashid went for plenty of runs, as he often does, but looked far more dangerous than Lyth who bowled before him. Willey batted powerfully but his bowling was a bit wayward and some of his captaincy decisions were a bit puzzling. Putting Lyth on before Rashid was the oddest decision and Lyth's first three balls went for 18. His solitary over cost 24 runs and could have cost us the match. Taking Ferguson off after one brilliant over seemed odd as well, but what do I know? He led them to a victory in the end, but it was pretty close. Brilliant night's entertainment though which deserved a much bigger crowd. The sooner all this nonsense is over with the better.
Couldn’t have put it better mate. On individual performances. Exactly as I saw em. My fear is will the replacements step up to the mark. Yorkshire’s score was made even more remarkable given only 7 runs off the 1st 2 overs. I thought Lyth was going to try and sit there a while to gain confidence after the 1st 2 games. But his 50 came off the same number of balls as Bairstow. (28) Mentions for Brook and Inglis. Who made it a good nights entertainment. Credit to Leicestershire who made a right fist of it.
Yes, Brook’s knock was really good and made sure the early momentum was maintained. To be honest I was just annoyed by Inglis for having the cheek to be smashing the ball around like we had. Another six was on for him before Thompson plucked the ball out of the air, one handed, just inside the rope. That looked like a match-winning catch to me because the batsman was well set. But that’s the beauty of T20 isn’t it?
