    Possibly. I've seen the same poster use Sibbick and Sibbock in the same thread though so not so sure..

    That commentator on the old VirginTV highlights on Youtube could never pronounce our foreign players' names. My favourite one was when we had Ferenczi and Rajczi up front. Apparently they were pronounced "Frenkskee" and "Raj-zee"

    The announcer at Craven cottage called Mike Lester Mike Blester.
    He came back on a few seconds later and said the right name saying the ‘B’ was silent.

    I've heard/read some corkers. Too many to remember but I'll try...

    Pronunciations:

    Peter "Rajj-cazee"
    Tomasz "Sizka" (Flitcroft's own)
    Hugo "Collass"
    Mike "Bar-ray"
    Slightly more forgiveable..... Mike "Bearer"
    Dean "Gore" (Why would there be an accent on the "e" if it was silent?)
    "John Vees Mavoto"

    Spelling:

    Martin "Craine"
    Bobby "Hassle"
    Michael "Misfud"
    Clarke "Odour"
    Still can't get my head around people spelling it "Anderson" for Mads Andersen.

    My favourites?

    Simon Davey used to call Mounir El-Haimour "El Mounier"
    And my Rotherham supporting friend who was 11 at the time bless him, looked at the back of my Premier League shirt and thought we had a player named after a chain of bars in and around Blackpool - Clint "Ma Kelly"

    also a player we got from Swindon I can’t for the life of me think what is name is (if that makes sense)but I know I and others mispronounced it for years until someone corrected us

    Roughly. But not quite. Hence slightly more forgivable. It's "Bay-Ruh", the first syllable rhyming with "way" and "say" rather than "hair" or "there". It's all about the umlaut :D
